IHG� Hotels & Resorts, has announced the signing of a Management Agreement with Pyramids Group for Urban Development to bring a new luxury hotel to Egypt - InterContinental Cairo New Capital. Scheduled to open in early 2026, this signing reinforces IHG�s commitment to growing its brand portfolio in the country and solidify its presence in the luxury and lifestyle segment in the region.

Joining Holiday Inn New Assiut Asayla, Hotel Indigo Mountain View North Coast, Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity New Cairo, Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity 6th of October City and Hotel Indigo Mountain View Ain El Sokhna, the latest development marks the 6th IHG hotel to be signed in Egypt this year.

Featuring 300 luxurious rooms, InterContinental Cairo New Capital will be centrally located in the New Capital, a strategic city in Cairo, which was built as part of Egypt Vision 2030 to bolster the economic development of the country. The hotel will be located in the heart of the city, surrounded by landmarks such as the Presidential Palace, the Government Square, and the Opera.

The new development will offer leisure and business guests a wide range of dining options including an all-day and specialty restaurants, a rooftop bar, and caf� lounge. The hotel will also feature an outdoor and indoor pool, 250 sqm health club, 800 sqm spa, business center, and 8 meeting rooms.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Bao Quan Co., JSC to open Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre in 2022.

The 170-room hotel is located in the heart of Vinh Yen � the capital of Vinh Phuc Province.

Situated 30 minutes from Hanoi�s Noi Bai International Airport, Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre is located in one of the largest industrial provinces in Vietnam, Vinh Phuc, that continues to attractforeign direct investment (FDI) with many multinational corporations (MNCs) in its industrial parks. Vinh Yen will also host part of the rescheduled 2021 South-east Asian Games, that will be held in mid-May 2022, with the hotel being a key hub for the Games.

Two signings announced on December 17th - a dual-branded Hotel Indigo and Regent... in Sanya, and in a building that looks like the new Royal Atlantis in Dubai.

Interesting to see these two brands sharing the same development. Happy as I am to see a new Regent announcement, I'm getting annoyed to keep seeing them centered in Asia - eight of the nine hotels [Bali, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Phu Quoc, Kuala Lumpur, Kyoto and now Sanya] in the pipeline are all in Asia!

Intercontinental Dusseldorf will leave IHG and rebrand as Hotel K� 59 - a Hommage Hotel. Hommage Hotels is a rather new soft brand by the Dorint group.

Aw, that's a shame. It was a very nice hotel with an excellent club. And DUS is a fun town for a weekend!

Agree, the Club was one of the best if not THE best in Europe....really sad ....quite a few ICs in Europe are leaving... not a good year for IC lovers and RAs ...only 1 IC in Germany (IC Berlin) left

Just read that IC Bucarest is also leaving IHG....wondering where the IC journey will go

InterContinental Bucharest, with former InterContinental Prague and to some extent InterContinental Budapest definitely belong to the past: quality of service is very good, as well as club lounge, but interior design and architecture are definitely not what we should expect from today�s luxury market.

I agree however besides IC Barcelona and soon IC Rome no new ICs coming on the European market..that's really sad...

IHG has announced the signing of a Management Agreement with Dallah Real Estate Company for a Hotel Indigo Resort in Durrat Al Arus, Jeddah.

Due to open in early 2026, the Hotel Indigo Resort will be located in Durrat Al Arus, a recreational neighborhood north of Jeddah, and will be a leisurely drive away from the main city.

The resort will be a part of a mixed-use development project consisting of a budding residential community, vast water frontage and man-made lagoons.

IC Dusseldorf and former IC Cologne were part of a deal some 15 years ago. IC Dusseldorf got a long year contract where for IC Cologne had a short contract.. Looks like IHG is more focusing on the Kimpton chain in Germany .

Besides the one in Berlin,IC Frankrfurt also remains in Germany (re-opening 2024)

That's sad news, but understandable. Overall a very good hotel, however some hardware likely needs structural changes to comply with CP standards.
The hotel restaurant is very good, hope that stays.

Yesterday I have read that IHG is terminating Hotel franchise contracts with hotels which do not keep up with the standards of Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza Hotels. This had or still have effect on hotels in EMEA and North-America. In the spring of 2021 IHG closed more hotels then it opened and this was not due to Covid-19 situation but to this standard requirements. Hotels, which are closing down or are rebranded at the moment, are most likely part of this change of strategy.

There are operations going-on to introduce new hotels with up-to-date standards but that mostly will take time. Neither Hannover or Cologne are in Germany in any IHG pipe-line to open up new hotels in nearer future.
