I do think some of the Dreamliners will go to OS, but probably not 10.
LH has been a bit difficult about even giving Austrian anything, but since OS long fleet is in need of renewal I see them only giving them 6-8 Dreamliners to replace the entire long haul fleet even if it means cutting down routes or frequencies.

what are the chances of a nicer new business class in OS yet still keeping a 1-2-1 layout and not 2-2-2 like LH has?

Doubt that they will keep the Norwegian seats.

Details of the split are coming out... it looks like OS, LX and LH will get some B789 love:

I'm still convinced and hoping LX will get A350s.
Would be quite surprising if LX got 789s with a different layout (with F) anf go against LH oh so holy synergies and standardisation program :P
The Hainan one don't have a cabin installed afaik and should get a LH specific seat/interiors, including a new C seat. Hoping for a Thompson Vantage XL myself :P

Some new info seems to be available to EAF which suggests LH will take up to 21(?) B789s, 9 of which are white tails to be delivered in 2021 and 2022 using the semi-new Business Class.
B789s from 2023 will then get the new Business Class.
This would somewhat fit in with my theory that the 789s will be split between LH and OS as LH can replace their aging 343s and 333s in FRA with them and OS will get them to replace their remaining 767s.

For LX's future I am optimistic that they will receive as of 2025 A359's to replace the 5 A343's followed by WK replacing their A343's as well. Shoud LX require grow it's long haul fleet again following the withdrawal of 5 A333's I can see them receiving up to 5 more between 2026 -2029 after which they will start to replace their remaining 9 A333's. Who knows as of 2035 we will see A35X to replace the B77W's at LX

I can see OS going all B787 very quickly and also the B772's disapearing within next 2 years or so.

I too would see the A35X as an option for LX, more so before the pandemic than now. It would fit Lx's 8F layout and feature enough space to accommodate a healthy growth as well as the new Y+ without cannibalising C or Y in comparison to the A343s and A333s.
Ultimately I believe we might end up with a mix of A359s and A35X or even the rumoured A350-950 for Qantas project sunrise.
ZRH-SYD/AKL? One can dream...

"Now we know for sure that's not going to happen in 2023. It may not even happen in 2024," Chief Operating Officer Adel Al Redha told reporters when asked about Dreamliner deliveries.
