Winter massacre
This is what happens when you are on a long, boring Confo call through MS Teams
I went to my Corpo tool and checked which LO flights are departing from WAW on Nov 20:
Long-hauls operated on Friday Nov 20:
- JFK (5 weekly total)
- ORD (5 weekly total)
- YYZ (3 weekly total)
- SIN (1 weekly total)
- NRT (1 weekly total)
- ICN (3 weekly total); they also plan 3 weekly flights to PEK, but they are not operating on day 5
Interesting that flights operating once a week (NRT/SIN) are consolidated on Fridays.
Short hauls:
- generally Central/Eastern Europe flights depart at about 10-11 am, Western Europe flights depart at about 4-5 pm
1 flight per day:
IST / SOF / OTP / BEG / ZAG / LJU / ODS / KBP / LWO / TLL / ARN / GVA / OSL / CPH / BER / HAM / DUS / FRA / STR / MUC / ZRH / MXP / AMS / BRU / LUX / CDG / LHR / DUB / SVO
2 flights per day:
BUD / PRG / VNO / VIE
Domestics:
IEG (2 flights) / GDN (3 flights) / SZZ (2 flights) / POZ (2 flights) / BZG (1 flight) / WRO ( 3 flights) / LUZ (1 flight) / KTW (2 flights) / KRK (3 flights) / RZE (2 flights)
64 flights in total, what I guess moves LO back to the days just after Communism collapse.
PS. Sorry for random and not alphabetical order.

Its sort of right. But not a good day to choose, for example LHR is twice a day for a good few times a week. Im sure theyre relieved for the slot waiver. For iLied so is TLL.
Very few night stops. Looks like BRU and VNO are the only continuation.
Theres just no pax! And no wine either...

I thought a typical Friday might be the best day for airlines (obviously not an airline revenue management expert here):
- Strong Corporate traffic as businesspersons fly back home for the weekend
- Strong leisure traffic as tourists start weekend trips
Thus I checked schedule for Friday...

Its not unique though. Look at BArb on domestic. Helgas to GLA/EDI. Useless.
My issue is the tiny planes rostered to flights which means LO3911 on Sunday is already closed for domestic reservation. We are five days out.
As I said; theres just no pax. Id bet still with such a huge cut back, there are still plenty of ghost ships.

BUD 'hub' kaput (at least for now)
BUD 'hub' craziness goes away for now... No more BUD-BEG or BUD-STR dreams. All these insane flights are already removed from the GDS'es.
LO will still operate:
- 2 BUD-WAW frequencies during weekdays
- 1 BUD-WAW frequency on Sundays (no flights on Saturdays)
- 1 weekly BUD-ICN flight (Mondays only)
- 1 weekly WRO-BUD flights (Mondays only, to allow for connections to ICN - I think it caters for corporate travel of one of the chaebols - possibly LG?)

Yes, definitely LG for WRO. Whats the purpose to route them via BUD, is this to take advantage of a HU subsidy? It strikes me as artificially loading the flights like they were doing by selling WAW-KRK-ORD and WAW-RZE-EWR during the last year.
Interesting, I was actually in the middle of booking a flight the other day, KRK-BUD-OTP and it was disappearing before my eyes as the segments came back as invalid! That means she has also dropped KRK-BUD completely which was filed from 26 OCT. Call me a cynic, but I had the impression that when Basia adjusted her W20/21 schedule she just forgot about this one.
There was a very small OnHoliday programme from BUD. They had a E170 doing the likes of BUD-BOJ with about as many pax as crew. It seemed to get no publicity whatsoever. It wasn't featured on the HU version of LOT.com.

Bottles gone, plonk back
Real Kudos to Basia...
It seems Comrade Kaczek has instructed the reallocation of all the 0.5L water money to the champagne fund (Im sure hes teetotal like BArb Bronze Lindsay Hole knocking back champers on TXL-LCY).
Lallier GV is back, individual bottles onboard are gone-positive being sparkling water is back. Whatever the justification was in June Im not sure what the reason is to bin that now most of Poland is in the so-called red zone (yawn...).
Gin in the fridge and even After Eights... a peculiar choice given theyre open to deadly China flu splutter?
Perhaps Basias After Eights could become a super-spreader?!

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I couldn't find a dedicated LOT thread on the subject.
I could be flying YYZ-WAW around Christmas time in business class. Does anyone know if full catering will resume? Or will it still be food in boxes? It will be my first business class flight, so I'd like the full experience (at least as much as possible during these times!).
Thank you
