How does it work, in what sense? Presumably it will be similar to regular gifted status. At some point after the year is done, they'll tell you you've earned it and you'll be able to choose to whom to give it. We don't really know anything beyond that.

With the way flights have been reduced, never underestimate the chance that an East coast winner could need to route via YVR to get to YUL . Or West coast winner may need to connect in YUL/YYZ on the way to YVR.

The $5800 estimated retail value of each prize includes economy cabin seating, and blackout dates. AC certainly spared no expense.

On another matter: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...ffcontest.html

Seems like you can submit a photo of a self-plated meal to win P25K status, a one-status upgrade, or 25k AQM. Time to pick my best cheese plate!

Edit: Canadian residents only. Sigh.
Its a trap. They just want proof to hand over to the lawyers your silverwear drawer is mostly from AC.

From what I've seen, I'm probably the only person on FT who hasn't taken cutlery, glasses, etc. The only thing from AC I have that was not mailed to me from them is a poster.

There was one last Wednesday that was heavily discussed in this thread, and i believe another one yesterday? Many people have reported status bumps in the past 24 hours.

D582 can probably comment on the latest one in terms of MM miles.

I guess if I had realized the recent purchase bonus miles promo only counted for 50% I wouldn't have had to ask. transferred another 9k amex to get to the threshold, now

Aeroplan Estore 5x site-wide May 30-31

There's another 5x the miles event through Aeroplan's estore shopping portal this weekend.

I believe I also saw a 5x the miles bonus if using an American Express Aeroplan credit card, but I can't find the link.
Edit: I was on my phone while on the Aeroplan site, but the offer shows up when I'm on my tablet:

Earn 5 extra Aeroplan Miles per $1 spent.

From May 5 until May 31, 2020, earn 5 extra miles per $1 spent when using your eligible American Express* AeroplanPlus Card for purchases via the Aeroplan eStore.

These bonus miles are in addition to the miles you regularly earn for using your card for eligible purchases.

Conditions apply.1

Ummm

I don't recall the donation promotion mentioning anything about an adjustment...

Edit: It was covered:

While you're at home, you can still earn Aeroplan Miles, progress towards Altitude status, and make a difference with your miles. From now through April 30, 2020, for every five Aeroplan Miles you donate to a charity engaged in fighting the COVID-19 crisis, you'll receive one Altitude Qualifying Mile – up to a maximum of 25,000 AQM – all of which count towards 2021 status for you and a loved one.

Click on an eligible charity below to learn more and donate now:A minimum donation of 1,000 Aeroplan Miles is required. Altitude Qualifying Miles will be posted by December 15, 2020. Altitude Qualifying Miles are not Aeroplan Miles. Altitude Qualifying Miles earned as part of this offer do not count towards Air Canada Million Mile recognition. Learn more about reaching Altitude status.

From next week, we'll be sharing many more ways for you to earn Altitude status and Aeroplan Miles from home.

Yeah, but it seems like they covered their bases in the terms for these situations. The 1500/3000 was explicitly stated there would be an adjustment, and the donation miles said they "weren't Aeroplan miles".
