Assuming it is w/ the standard conditions, you should be fine w/ two rooms so long as there is a senior guest. These are the standard conditions.

Not at all. But that's all the heavy lifting I'm willing to do for now. I am a senior, after all.

Take a look on 4P Perth. There are some days the first week of Oct the "flash sale" rates are 110 AUD when the senior rates are 155 AUD. That is a very large difference.

I also have not seen a property called its rates a "flash sale", under the Package and Deal tab.

I had a similar experience at Boston Marriott Copley Place as a Titanium. I cant say for sure if it was the senior rate, because this property doesnt give a hoot about ones elite status at any rate. Was given a tiny room, and when I asked about an upgrade, was told because it was a higher floor it was an upgrade. Right.

True, but that's not relevant to the post you quoted, which was about point earning, not rate differentials.

In my experience, the upgrade you receive is property-centric and has little to do with your having booked a Senior rate. I am just concluding a stay at the Panam Marriott, where I was assigned their Master Suite, having booked a basic room with a very lucrative Senior rate. The FDA referred to it as their "best room." Perhaps Mr. Mahasa and/or others who have extensively used this rate could share their experiences. I've been using this rate whenever it makes sense over the past X years, and have never been penalized, in any way, for having done so.

I often use senior rates but at present having a problem with the website when trying to book the SGS,Bangkok. If I am logged in and select the senior rate for late September it tells me hotel is full.If I remove the senior rate it still displays no rooms available.
However If I don't sign in and select senior rate it defaults back to the regular rates.
I don't like being Bonvoyed.
