LH booking class P, Z are upgreadable for miles and eVouchers
Effective April 20th, 2018, all Lufthansa revenue Business Class fares, including P and Z, are eligible to be upgraded to First Class using miles or eVouchers.

This new rule applies to bookings made from March 12, 2018.

Sounds like good news. Any details on the premium required - same as LX? I couldn't find any reference on M&M and the upgrade pages still list only C, D and J.

There will be a surcharge of 20,000 miles if upgraded with miles, and no surcharge if eVouchers used, same as LX.
I guess the upgrade table on M&M site will be upgraded on April 1st.

I guess the upgrade rules with PPB points will be identical to these currently applied to LX class P and Z but you might want to confirm it with M&M

It looks like the upgrade also works with United GPUs. When I checked I would have been able to upgrade my P-class flights on 3/29 and 4/2 to First Class. I decided against it.

Indeed, heres hoping but we are at April 1 & still no confirmation from M&M, there again, they are still displaying Wine menus in F for March..... LH 5 * IT 😁

btw. is it possible to try an upgrade using evoucher in SEN lounge not at the gate?


Edit: Yes, it is possible. They have access to the system.

To my knowledge it's Miles & More who should update their information in the first place. Their upgrade table was updated last end of January. Let's hope they will do it right after Easter holiday.

Tried and failed to upgrade Z class tickets using united miles (through their website). They claim the ticket is not upgradeable (ticket is for mid June HKG-MUC and bought after March 12). Called Miles & More today and the person I talked to didn't think there was any change like that.

you can only use united GPUs for Z/P. upgrades to F
miles upgrades with UA miles goes through the normal star alliance upgrade path where I think booking class is J/C/D minimum https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...de-awards.html
