$25K for what?
$30K charters arent great on space are they? can you give examples of manufacturers? does $30K include expenses and gratuity? megayachts that run hundreds of thousands / millions a week look incredible, but understandably owners dont allow charters to resell rooms.
(lots of) different markets which have different customers
when cruiselines are doing as well as they are, one 149-cabin probably not hard to handle
knows cruise industry pretty well >
indeed, as has been done (at least) on private yachts that run hundreds of millions

I hear you, Pausarias, about the need for heavy furniture on aboard yet am certain it could be more artfully constructed.
Meanwhile I am doubtful there ever could be genuine luxury cruises at prices accessible to most in that demographic. The current ostensible luxury cruise lines are utter crap.

On one end of the spectrum, you could charter S/Y Peresus, a 200' Perini-Navi, that goes for about $360k + 10% tip per week. Or on the other end of the spectrum, if 200' is too intimidating, you could go as low as $20k/week on a CNB 76 in the BVIs http://ocean-yacht-charter.com/detai...or-charter-904.

Estimating these Ritz Carlton cruises are going to run well into the 5-figures per person. 2 people = 25K +

Talking charters as competition to (small) ocean cruise lines is like talking ocean ships versus river boats in same sentence. Only similarity being that all three float on water.

I disembarked a Regent ship last Friday in Iceland, having sailed across from Canada and Greenland (which was a revelation by the way).
I mentioned this Ritz Carlton initiative to several passengers and no one had heard of it. And Regent (and also Seabourn and Silversea) offer enormous incentives to book another cruise when on board - big discounts and upgrades, including Business Class air travel etc.
RC will have to work extremely hard to tempt people off their current cruise lines/ships of choice.
