Comair club 737-800 seatmap
Sorry if my question should have been placed in another thread.
We are due to fly on a Comair 737-800 (JNB to CPT) in club class. I was about to select our seats but am a bit concerned by the seat map.
It shows a 2 / 2 (AC / DF) configuration in row 1 - also shown as exit row -, and 2 / 3 (AC/DEF) from row 2 to 5 with row 2 as exit row.
Aren't the center seats neutralised in the "3" rows in club class? We will travel as a couple and wished to be seated together of course. The only remaining seats are two rows of D/F seats, E shown as unavailable.
Thank you for you answer, I didn't manage to find any recent cabin picture so far.
Edit : answer finally found 15 min later on flight report...

it wasn't a bug on the map : first row 2/2, other rows in 2/3 with center seats sold.

Funny enough I flew from JNB-CPT yesterday. The 3pm I was on was cancelled so they bumped me to the 4pm and the very last row middle seat!!
The 737's are showing their age. Club is like going back 10 years ago. The old 5 abreast convertible leather seats. Definitely want to sit on the left in the A and C seats with the little seat in between free. As per above, the DEF seats are all sold so no middle seat free like now. Leather seats went back to about row 10 and then become the cloth seats. Exit rows are good to go for (11 and 12). The lounge in JNB for Comair is pretty good, great choice of wines and beers and spirits, sparkling stuff and a pretty large buffet to choose from. Toilets cleaned after almost every occupant. It can get very busy but the wifi works well and overall is one of the better lounges I have encountered.
I thought I was having a bad trip yesterday with canx flight and middle seat down the back until my mate showed me the scene I'd left back in Jo'Burg with flash floods and roads being closed.

Some of the Comair planes are old, but I do find their seats far more comfortable than ET/CE.
The space and on-board service is far superior to the current BA offering and the crew seem less stressed

Do people recommend row 1 in Comair 738? It says its an Exit row but does it mean there is no bulkhead in front of and its an awkward FA facing position?

No there is a bulkhead at row 1 to maintain yours and the cabin crews composure. Row 1 on Comair is designated exit row as under South African legislation it requires able bodied passengers sat there to be able to assist in the event of an emergency. In all other senses it's exactly the same as Club Europe row 1 would be on a non-Gatwick A319/20/21

Not an answer but just fyi there is currently no service of food or drink (other than water on request) on domestic flights in SA. This includes any you have brought on yourself.

The title of this old thread has now become slightly misleading as most people would assume '737-8' refers to to the 737 Max 8 rather than the 737-800 (although Comair does not currently have the Max 8 in its fleet).
