Which JFK Skyclub is better? [flying JFK-SFO in D1]
Looks like I'm flying paid BusinessElite...er, D1 between JFK-SFO. I haven't been to JFK or flown paid BE since 2011, so I'm sure a lot have changed. A couple questions:
a) Which SC is better at JFK? I have a 3 1/2 hour connection, so barring any delays... plenty of time. As a paid J customer, I would get free access, correct? Also, would I get access to any other club(s), and which would the best free club be (both DL SC's and non-DL clubs)? Showers, Wi-Fi, and free snacks are a priority for me.
b) My origin would be DCA. When I traveled JFK-SFO (twice, each in paid BE) in the past, from DCA, I had mixed success getting into the SC at DCA. I was let in without problems once, but the second time, I was told I wasn't supposed to get access; and that I'd only get access at JFK. The website isn't clear at all about this.
c) I'm in 5D. Any recommendations for a really good window seat in the 767?
Many thanks!

A) I've only been to the club in T-4 but it's nice. Your flight will almost certainly depart from T-4 too and getting between the two terminals isn't easy. Can't help much more on if you can use other clubs. Don't know that one as I haven't tried.
B) You will have SkyClub access at DCA. Your whole itinerary should display to the agent when you check-in, and he/she should see the JFK-SFO leg. If you get any flack when you check-in at the club, present you D1 boarding pass for JFK-SFO.
C) 5D is a good window seat. Any of the odd row numbers have better window views than the even rows because the seats are closer to the window. This also gives you a little more privacy from the aisle. I personally like 1A and 1D because the seats have a little bit bigger footwell than the other does.

You will most likely be going out of T4 within the 30's for your gate. SC is near 34. The showers at JFK can be a wait at times (I've waited for an hour to get a shower when coming in from a redeye from the west coast). Since you have 3 1/2 hours to connect, you have tons of time. You have to ask for all that stuff (brush kit, deodorant, blow dryer, etc) as you know when putting your name on the list. The showers here at T4 have a toilet within the room (compared to SEA, which is one shower in a room behind the regular bathroom).
The SFO sky club is new, spacious, and quite nice. I have not yet had the chance to shower out of this location so cannot comment on that. I do enjoy the atmosphere here as compared to JFK.
If you end up at T2 JFK for some unknown reason, it isn't a big deal. The showers here are also up to par, but with the same design as that of the DTW SC. This SC isn't as busy as it used to be.
For the 767, 5D is fine. My personal preference is to be towards the front at 2A to be able to use the loo when I choose. I would stick to the seat that you already have.
If they change your aircraft for whatever reason, the 757 is also fine. I personally don't care for row 1, but strive for row 4. You can easily look behind you to check if the lav is taken. #personalpreference.
If you care, FEBO!

I think the terminal 4 club is more beautiful--Delta really spent a lot to make this a premier club and it shows. Also, this sky club has a full menu (that you pay for) if you want more than the complimentary food (though this has recently gotten much, much better).
The terminal 2 club was also totally renovated and is decent, but is smaller, has lower ceilings, and no windows that face directly outside (the windows look into the terminal), all of which make it less nice.

Hands down the T4 club. It's huge and it also has a restaurant (in addition to the normal club food). Showers are nice.
The T2 club has been improved, but I only go in there when I have a flight leaving from 2. It's much darker than the club in T4.

Is this still true? Was just at LAX on Thursday night and they had a really nice spread.

Thanks for the responses!
Does 1D have a good window view, and is it too close to the gallery or just perfect? Looks like my flight is an odd-numbered flight, so if FEBO is in effect, I'd benefit more, but it looks like FEBO isn't used often.
As for lounges at JFK... are there any partner lounges I am entitled entry to other than SCs? I thought there was a partner lounge where DL customers were welcome, as well.

There might be a third party lounge; other FTers are better informed on that than I.

I would go so far as to say if you're flight does leave from T2 (which is unlikely) you have time to take the Jitney from T2 to T4 and enjoy the T4 SC for a couple hours. Just remember to leave yourself time to get back to T2 about 20 minutes on average.
