Just finished up a 1 night stay at the FS. Bill was about $660 so I had them add a $150 gift card to the total to bring me up over $800... I love free money!

Not usual at all. They offer the same offer each year. (Though they typically market it as an exclusive)

As reported in other threads, The Peninsula New York is offering confirmed upgrades (and breakfast) for online bookings. Virtuoso/Pen Club TAs probably can match this offer as well.

If anyone is looking for a last-minute getaway, I received an email last night that the beautiful (and apparently just renovated) La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatanejo, Mexico is offering every third night free for the rest of September.

Casa Que Canta is my favorite Mexican resort. Just wish it was easier to get to Zihua from SFO. September is HOT but there's plenty of shade and luscious ocean breezes.
