It says that on that link: for "Ticket number does not start with "016" and was purchased from an airline other than United or from a travel agency or other travel website" (which is my case where I bought the ticket from LX website), I should earn 50% Award miles for Deep Discount Economy (E, K, L, T). No?????

My fault. I totally missed the L there - I used the pre-March 1 fare classes.

I think you can blame UA. Makes no sense that the only table that shows when you open the page is for pre-March 1. I'm sure many others are also missing the buttons that open the currently applicable tables. It's just not well designed at all.

Non-UA ticket with UA's segment - how RDM is calculated?

Subj. Example: SIN-NRT-SFO-NRT-SIN, ticketed by ANA, SIN-NRT and back is done via UA, NRT-SFO and back - via ANA.

How RDMs are calculated at the new scheme?

The ANA segments RDM will be based on a percentage of the distance.

The UA segments RDM will be based on PQD unless it's an opaque fare.

I thought the UA segments would be distance based as it is not a 016 ticket.

Noperroni. See http://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/Mark...es/united.aspx.

Flights operated by UA tickets operated by any airline award miles based on fare. With carve-out for opaque fares where UA doesn't want to tell you how much they were paid for their portion of the trip.

Nope. Anything flown on UA metal, no matter how it was ticketed, presuming its a published fare, is based on $. Only non-UA issued, non-UA operated as well as 016 bulk/specialty fares earns based on the percentage of distance formula.

is AC the best RDM/PQM for TATL flights when not 016 ticket?

When not booking 016?

It would appear so for business class as I am seeing everything at 200%

And with the 100% for RDM that would make the total 300%?

Still trying to book a flight TATL and all options are P Class.

Yes you are correct. You will get 300% RDM as a 1K and 150% PQM. It is IMO the best deal TATL in P-class on *A.

I just completed (3-18 to 3-24) IST-YYZ-TPA-YYZ-IST segments on AC in "P" Class. I got 300% RDMs and 150% PQMs. Booked two more similar segments on AC in P Class later in the year. With the USD/CAD exchange rates at 1.26, the AC fares are very competitive and BTW, their TATL service is outstanding !

Let's hope this secret doesn't get too widely distributed !!
