Schedule extension and new international destination

So far, no response to the new schedule extension? I don't see much in the way of dramatic change: of interest to me is adding MCI-LGA non-stop: late afternoon-evening in both directions. Reportedly a new international destination will be announced in an Investor Day conference call coming up at 12.30 p.m. CT.

I thought already got one courtesy of US/AA/their subs within the past year +/-?. Hopefully they DO have that much slack in the slot-sack with the # they acquired from US/AS....

Interesting. LegalTender, is that a guess or hot-off-the press news?

Confirms SNA-PVR:

Also, according to that article they have applied for BWI-SJD (Cabo). That's a long flight for a leisure route.

Investor Conference Call / Gary Kelly:

                            .
**Verbatim transcript will reflect whether GK's "low-cost producer" statement is correctly summarized. He seemed to catch himself and added that SWA is committed to retaining its "low-cost leader" title.

Exciting news. I was hoping for PVR, but was hoping it would run out of the NW. From SEA, it would require 2 stops....not worth it for me, even for lesser cost.

I believe Gary Kelly was previously quoted as stating that the international markets were performing rather poorly. Will be interesting to see if the markets pick up once the Air Tran integration is completed.

Sad to see the ATL-BDL non-stops go away. This is one route where the Southwest effect really helped out of ATL. Roundtrips went from $500+ pre-SW to sub $300. Guess it's back to making connections for me or coughing up $500 .

More capacity without more airplanes means more seats in the 800's. This will also help out at LGA due to slot constraints. This will make Wall Street happy. I am curious to see the spin on the announcement.

They are adding planes as well, but will have fewer for a while.

September was the first month this year with actually more ASM's than the previous month. ASM's are still below last year. Trips are down as well but starting to move up some.
