B-747-8 engine: LH not affected from update
Our engines are not affected by the directive from the US aviation authority FAA to carry out a software update due to a possibly malfunctioning thrust reversal. This has never occurred in practice. Our eleven current aircraft of the Boeing 747-8 type have already had the latest software versions from engine manufacturer General Electric for some time. In the next week, the twelfth aircraft should arrive in Frankfurt with the D-ABYN.
The US aviation authority FAA has issued an airworthiness directive for the Boeing 747-8. Operators of the 747-8 should update the software of the engine control system by 9 April.
