No comment on the TG product, but I found UA GF better than LX C on the A343.

toss up - for me it would depend on total flight time, connections, etc.

One argument will be you are already paying "F" - so may as well fly F all the way.

Is JFK-PEK not available on CA F? That would be my choice JFK-PEK-BKK.

Thanks!
I would take option one in a heartbeat. Not only do you get a much better seat in UA GF, but you've got at least shot at the new F suite on the TG 747.

Agreed.

UA F has better seats than LX Airbus 340 C.

I tend to agree. LX C seat on the A340 is not great. The air bladder thing just makes them feel like an air mattress. Last flight ZRH - GRU was mostly underwhelming all around.

Definitely go with the first option. Say what you want about GF, it's better than LX C...more comfortable seat, better IFE, etc. No idea the difference between F on different TK planes.

UA 777-200 or SWISS A340-300

I am booking a trip SFO to CDG for next year, BusinessFirst. For my return I can either come back on a United 777-200 or a SWISS A340-300. Time and cost are comparable. Which will provide me a more comfortable ride and a better sleep?

I would opt for LX(Swiss) if you value the on board amenities like good dining and service from a European airline. If conveneience of the non stop is your focus and wish to earn lifetime UA flight miles, then I would take United.

prefer throne seat on swiss and general brighter decor on lx but otherwise 777bf is just as good. more consistently-good service on lx.

everything else is past the point-of-sufficiency on both sides so good enough for me.

not really a big difference on either plane. Swiss A340-300 is a junk plane thats going to a parts bin soon.... so that might be one reason to fly the fuel pig if you have not flown one before.

Why is the fuel efficiency of the plane relevant to the quality of the on-board experience?
