Hyatt's Hotel Mar Monte squeaks in under your $250/night cost (albeit before tax is added) for a weeknight I checked in late July. Renovations are to be complete in May. The hotel is across the street from the beach. Here's a thread on the property, though recognize all posts are about the hotel pre renovation.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the heart of town. The location was great, the hotel not so much.

Santa Barbara extended stay higher-end hotel/bungalow suggestions?
I am looking at booking a stay of 2 months next summer in Santa Barbara. The goal is to find a higher end room, preferrably a bungalow or suite style property in a good central/near beach location.
Has anybody any suggestion, where & how to find such an accommodation?

The El Encanto fits the bill, but it is currently closed for renovations.

I'd email the folks at the Four Seasons, Doubletree, Hotel Mar Monte, and Pacifica Suites to see what they can do for you. The Doubletree is probably the best option for being both higher end, and centrally located. Four Seasons is probably the nicest in the area, but a bit further from downtown.

Personally, I like

Keep your eye on it in case something comes up. Residents will occasionally offer up their furnished places for short-term leases.
Not on the beach, but a fantastic place chock-full of history:

And vrbo has some good choices. You can always hire daily maid service.

Fess Parker Doubletree or Four Seasons Biltmore would both be wonderful, but they will cost you and UR can't get them (well, you can just pay with them for 1.25 cents/pt).
There's a Courtyard Marriott in Goleta (about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara) but looks like they have a 3 night minimum. Brand new hotel, and they're nuts!
It's a shame there's not enough time left to do it, my recommendation woulda been getting the Citi Hilton Reserve and using the two free weekend nights for the Fess Parker.
There's a Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo available for 40k/35k IHG/Priority Club points per night. Crowne Plaza in Ventura is nice for 25k points/nt but it's about a half hour drive.
