Think that all depends on how you plan to use your points/free nights. If you want to save up points for a Cat 6 or 7 hotel award the free nights are useless.

A friend of mine (Platinum) somehow was not automatically signed up for it. Now it is past the 10/31 signup deadline. He has had a few stays already and will have a few more. Would calling MR help?

Thanks.

and my experience has been with MR if you try once and it doesn't work try a second time.... (although never run into having to try this particular request but my initial status match required 2 requests, changing to a different promo once required 3 requests but all of which they finally granted)

Have any platinum or gold had success changing from the 25 nts to the 2 cat1-5 certs? I know getting the 3 cat 1-4 certs is no problem but curious if anyone has had success getting the 1-5? Thank you

This was discussed multiple times in the promo thread.

The answer was No. It was an extremely targetted promo.

Unless I missed a post (and I could have), I only recall 1 person reporting
that the request was honored to only be taken back (via email, I believe).

So, no dice~!

this may seem like a silly question, but i just wanted to confirm - the current bonus ends on April 30th. Does the night of April 30th count? Based on my current reservations, the night of the 29th is the 24th night, and if the 30th counts, then i will get 25 nights and get the extra 5K.

Thanks in advance, and apologize again if it was a silly question, but I just wanted to confirm.

Yes, the beginning of the night (meaning check in or when you go to sleep) is what counts, not the end of the night (meaning check out or when you wake up).

Ever heard of telephone roulette? Just as with all of Marriott's bonus offers, some have been fortunate enough to get the right rep and have their bonus offer switched, and others have not been fortunate, while still others who were not fortunate the first time called back and the second rep was willing/able to switch them. It will likely be the same situation this time around with the "Unexpected Bonus," which everyone here expected, all except the weird name for it.
