Without international surcharge
but not a real bargain is the loaded "J" fare. Just for your info:
Datum Abflug Ankunft Flug Dauer Klasse
So 3 Jun 05:20Berlin 06:35Frankfurt LH171 1h15 Business (J)
Gesamtpreis
Total
614.00 + 65.89 x 1 Erwachsener = 679.89
Gesamtpreis fr alle Passagiere = 679.89"
Would have expected a more friendly offer for those who get up at 4 in the night.....
Seat map shows all 8 seats of F Class as Business Class but all reserved yet.
EDIT: Flightstats only shows the available booking class "J" for Business Class and two expensive Economy Classes (Y;B).

Is this going to be the shortest A380 revenue flight in history? Another mark for the record books maybe.....

Will be curious if they will be sold out!

IMO they would go better with a decent Miles/More spending offer for their members who are based in Berlin.
I doubt if Berlin will see a scheduled A380 departure within the next five years or so.

+++14.16 Uhr Lufthansa sagt Berlin-Jungfernflug mit A 380 ab
And because Lufthansa will now have to try and arrange their full, expanded slate of flights to operate from TXL with less than one month's notice! Air Berlin have already stated it will cost them a lot of money (+++ 14.45 Uhr Verschobene Flughafenerffnung kostet Air Berlin viel Geld, same link as above)

LH A380 flight from BER cancelled: opening of new Berlin airport is luckily delayed!
The inauguration flight of LHs A380 named Berlin from New Berlin Willi Brandt Airport (BER) is cancelled by Lufthansa - because both luckily and surprisingly the new airport is not opening in June, but furthermore delayed (politicians say Aug/Sept - I think and hope Oct/Nov/Dez)!
German media today reports about the surprise-cancellation of the opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport (originally planned for 2007, then Nov 2011, then June 3 2012) - supposedly due to problems with some fire security systems:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8G87GV20120508 (English)
http://www.spiegel.de/reise/aktuell/...-a-831989.html (German)
That is very good news for passengers: it means some more months of easy travelling from the worlds best airport, which is Berlin Tegel (TXL), where you only need 15 minutes by cab from the city center, and where you only have 15 meters from the taxi drop to your individual check in, and than another 15 meters to your individual gate. The longer travellers can use this really user-friendly, fantastic architectural layout, the better!
The only problem is the cancellation of Lufhansas A380 flight from/to FRA, which I can easily get over...

Except, I see how the airport is great if you want to board a 320/737 to DUS/FRA/MUC/CGN. But I sometimes use TXL as TATL gateway and (though I keep doing it for financial reasons) it's rather terrible for that: gate security has inadequate capacity for larger planes, lounges are landside, etc. There's a reason that the design was implemented only twice, and that the other airport that did so (CGN) reversed it.

What's the significance of that at a time where you need to have a same day *A boarding pass if you want to visit the lounges? Yes, I am aware of the fact that this wasn't a requirement some time ago but as of today why would it make a difference whether the lounge is air- or landside?

I love TXL, except getting in/out of there. For the last 6 months or so, it's nearly impossible to get a taxi on Friday night, and the TXL buses are packed like sardines.
I don't see where LH171 on 3 Jun is cancelled? I doubt it would be, LH171 is regularly scheduled service from BER-FRA. My booking still says A380 and 5:20am. My guess is it will revert to the normal 6:15am time slot and back to an A321.
So, what happens now? I want a seat on the first flight from BER, so I don't need a refund, but I'm worried that what happens if BER opens while I'm on holiday or something? Ideally they'd issue refunds and then let us have first priority for booking new seats...
