LY's site is down - hacker attack

Apparently LY's website is down due to a hacker attack, as is the stock exchange's site. LY's site says down due to maintenance so I assume they have got it back up but are working to secure it.

According to news outlets it's an attack by Palestinian hackers:

What I didn't understand is whether a hacker took down the website, or whether they took it down as a precaution, considering he threatened to take it down (and the TASE's site).

From the looks of things, the hackers got to it.

Now they're vowing to continue as an act of solidarity with the Hamas. Curious to see if and how Israel can respond to this.

I believe that the IDF has vowed to secure LY's site. The important news is that all information on LY's site and server is safe. They did not access the site; they simply flooded the site, crashing it.

The site is anyway full of problems....so hacked or not hacked is not a big deal.

However, I hope the planes & airport counters are somewhat better protected.....

EL AL Response: Hacker Monitoring

EL AL is aware of the cyber war against Israel throughout the past two weeks and the company is closely monitoring the hacker activity. We are taking precautions on the activity of the company's website - as a result, there may be some disruptions in the activity of the site. We greatly apologize for any inconvenience.

This is an exact quote from the website, except the site has been online for more than 24 hours already.

it's not hacking the site.
it's called DENIAL OF SERVICE attack. (DOS) or DDOS.
