I must be a lucky one as FS hotels always have my profile requests noted (I see the codes for each request on the registration form I sign at check-in) and the room is as I have specified in my profile.

Maybe 2010 different from now.
They have my room set up as I like now with every booking world wide - including extra pillow, type of tea, exercise bike, etc

BeatCal's experience seems to echo mine to an extent.
Over the past couple months the FS hotels I've stayed in have met my profile requests (pretty basic--Bvlgari White Tea and plates/cutlery in my room) without any follow-up in my end. Additionally, a FS I'll be staying at next week mentioned in a pre-arrival email that all my preferences were noted.
Something I really like is that many FS's have been very flexible with swapping out complimentary amenities. While I like, for example, a daily fruit basket from time to time, I don't have much need for it when my breakfast is already inclusive. Four Seasons is very good about offering up an amenity as a gesture than I can really utilize and appreciate depending on the circumstances unique to each stay.
