Hi all

This thread has been useful but the previous 7 pages of speculation are now redundant given that AC is 'official'. Why not make life easier for AC newbies by posting further comments on this new thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...questions.html.

Checked in to the AC Ciudad Seville and the manager came out to greet us and was very nice. He upgraded our room and offered points or fruit plate so that all went very well.

BUT, we were advised we don't get the platinum wifi benefit, nor the included breakfast. I sent a quick email to Marriott, and they asked him to contact us. He provided one 24 hour wifi card for our three day stay that we are too stupid to make work, and repeated again that breakfast was not included and if Marriott Rewards told us it was then they made a mistake.

"Free Internet Access
As a Platinum Elite member, you get free Internet access across all Marriott brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott Hotels, Autograph CollectionSM, Renaissance Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, and Courtyard (outside the U.S. and Canada only), making it easy to stay connected. (Not available in meeting rooms.)"

https://www.marriott.com/rewards/mem...ts/platinum.mi

However, despite previous information, AC hotels does NOT qualify for free breakfast. I am very upset about this, as I have a trip this weekend and was specifically told my Marriott Rewards that it would be. I am going to write them now.

Not sure if you get any compensation for failure to provide internet. The elite benefits guarantee does not mention it. You might want to just charge it to the room then call Marriott stateside and have them take it off your bill.

"Through January 8, 2012, fill up on a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning of your stay at AC Hotels. A minimum two-night stay is required."

https://www.marriott.com/ac-hotels/travel.mi

Unfortunately, AC considered as a CY and not included in Ultimate Guarantee otherwise OP would be elligible for $100/day.

Unfortunately, that breakfast rate "PKG" was not available when we made our reservations. I tried it at the time but it did not work. Since I had been told brekky would be included, I didn't bother contacting anyone to see why.

Breakfast is 17 e here so I am off to try to find a coffee place. We do not eat enough breakfast to make it worth 45 or so US for two people.

go out of the hotel and turn L.......... walk a few steps to the corner and turn L.......... walk straight ahead and you'll find coffee/cake shop on the corner about a block up (if you turn R theres 2 other small rest with outside tables)...............if you want breakfast/breakfast, go straight about 3 blocks and you'll see a supermarket on the opposite corner.......... just beyond is a local hotel w seperate rest that we ate breakfast at each day - not $$$$$

Thanks BKKLEE!

We picked up some rolls, jamon and cheese at that mercado last night so ended up having those leftovers for breakfast. The hotel here offered us breakfast tomorrow morning to make up for Marriott Customer Service giving us bad info. They have been very nice here and it is certainly not their fault that Marriott was wrong.

BTW, apparently the hotel air conditioning was turned off for the season last week. It was rather warm in our room last night and we could not sleep with the windows open, too noisy. They set up an oscillating fan today. They are doing their best to make us happy, and besides the breakfast thing we are.

Greetings - I hope to clear up some confusion with the recent launch of AC Hotels by Marriott.

The Guaranteed Lounge Access/Free Continental Breakfast benefit for Gold and Platinum Elite members is not available at AC Hotels by Marriott. This benefit remains only available in the Concierge/Executive/Club Lounge at participating JW Marriott, Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels and Marriott Hotels & Resorts locations worldwide. However, in celebration of the new brand launch of AC Hotels by Marriott back in May, the hotels have been offering a complimentary breakfast buffet on two-day stays through January 8, 2012, using promotion code: PKG.

Safe travels, Andy

The "season" that the AC brand uses for turning on/off their AC system is something I had a problem, with - frankly I think it should be available when the weather is uncomfortable to open the windows and/or excessive construction or other noises and NOT based on some arbitrary day that its turned on/off but thats what you get froim a Courtyard, excuse me, AC brand property.

I asked Marriott to look into the unacceptable "season" use of the AC-brand AC units after my April trip before they officially co-branded but obviously from the current stay of another OP, Marriott had other things to do then to fix a problem before it affected future guests.

I've stayed at AC Diplomatic Barcelona paying over $250 per night and I'd say it's on par with the best Marriotts in the US. It's really a shame Marriott isn't giving you Elite members breakfast at properties like this. On the other hand it makes me feel less inferior being just Silver.

(more then) slightly overpriced as current rates are E145 and you don't even get MR benefits!

Please Note – AC Hotels do not participate in Marriott Rewards. This stay will not earn Elite benefits, nights, points or miles.

STANDARD RATES
From 145.00 (EUR) per night ROOM PACKAGES

BTW, how far off the Rambla are you?
