AY to start flying HEL-SIN on 30-May-2011

AY starts flying HEL-SIN on 30-May-2011

So for those of us in the SWP, the quickest way to HEL will be via SIN
but wasn't that always the case

Is HEL-SIN ( and what a combo) a non-stop? I remember that a few years ago, AY flew non-stop to BKK, and then had a tag on flight to either HKG or SIN (depending upon the day of the week). Once HEL-HKG became non-stop, the flights to SIN were dropped.

ETA: Actually SIN-> HEL is the better way to go...

Non stop according to EF. Also a QF codeshare.

Are AY conspicuously selling tickets ex Australia? I have heard of "deals" in J but how are the prices in Y?

Seems AY credits better than QF to the AA program

Happy wandering

AY used to have their cheapest fare from SYD to points in Europe (via codeshare on BA SYD-BKK and on to HEL) booking in 'R', which was a great earner for AA - 1.5EQP as well as the 100% Elite bonus if PLT/EXP. AA still think that it is a business class bucket. EDIT: Actually just found they think it's a full economy bucket: https://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/e...es/finnair.jsp
There are still good R fares on AY available LHR-HKG (min 6 days from memory).

In one sense going from HEL to SIN is understandable. While SIN may have led you to HEL, the fact that you are in HEL will probably mean that you are more likely to SIN, which is a negative virtue - called ViCE.
