Was a non-issue earthquake fortunately. In Tokyo the buildings swayed a bit, but the most striking thing was the gentle roll of the land for so long. Generally indicative of the epicenter being very far away and/or quite deep. Tokyoites generally looked at each other, said" Hmm... earthquake" and went back to work, or lunch as the case may be as the quake struck just before lunch.

we were at Narita Airport when it happened.

It swayed for a long time. Thought I had too much drink for a sec

what a pity! spent 10 days in Japan and one thing I expected to go through was a reasonable non destructive earthquake!

There are some museums where you can experience simulated earthquakes though I have never been to any.

That's a "careful what you wish for" for sure.

I was just in Japan for a week, at the time of the Christchurch quake in NZ -- where we had been 8 years and one day earlier. An experience that I don't need to cross off my checklist, thanks.

Glad that this one was a non-issue.
