Complicated Interline Issue
Tried searching for a similar situation on the forum, but couldn't find it.
I'll be doing the following:
YVR-PEK-DXB on 1 RTW PNR with no stopovers
YVR-PEK on AC
PEK-DXB on CA
I am not actually stopping in DXB either but then going on to DXB-MCT-SLL on WY after an 8-hour wait (I have a room at the Dubai International Transit Hotel)
Since my checking in is through AC and not CA, will they be able to check in my bags all the way through to SLL? If AC can't, then can CA make changes at their counter in PEK? And if not, then can WY make changes at their counter in DXB (before baggage claim / customs)?
Now if the answer to all these questions is a no. Then how do I solve this problem -- I don't have a UAE visa to pick up my bags and then recheck ex-customs at DXB airport, so what would the arrangement be?
Thanks for your input in advance!

Air Canada will be checking you in so their rules apply. AC will not interline onto separate itineraries (I believe they are even reluctant to do it for *A partners) so you have a miniscule chance of them allowing it onto WY. CA and WY will not be able to do anything without your bags. Your best bet will be to check the bags to DXB and then go landside and re-check your bags. You will need to make sure that you can obtain an appropriate visa for the landside transit.

Catch 22 for this one-
I am booked at the Transit airport hotel in DXB - non refundable. If you are not with Emirates, you cannot check-in earlier than 3 hours. So when I come in at 11:10pm and go through customs (assuming I have a transit via), I won't be able to go back into the hotel till 5am -
[since WY flight is at 8am]
Looks like carry-on seems to be the only option.

their policies, and will interline on separate itineraries. Earlier this week I flew
AC YYZ-NRT on one itin, then started a RTW in NRT with an NH flight to TPE.
AC not only checked my bag all the way, they even issued the NH boarding
pass in YYZ.
If they have interline agreements with all the carriers involved, they should be able to through-check your bags. They definitely have agreements with
CA, you will have to check if they do with WY as well.

Thank you for the posts.
Here is how I solved it in case anyone is interested (I cheated as I made a new reservation for DXB-MCT on EK since it interlines with AC)
1. Booked EK DXB-MCT. Cancelled DXB-MCT on WY.
2. EK allows 24-hour advance check-in at DXB and offers transit visa service (in case bags don't get checked in through)
3. Since AC interlines with CA and EK - I should be checked in all through to MCT.

The above is incorrect. That was the case a few years ago, but they have changed
their policies, and will interline on separate itineraries. Earlier this week I flew
AC YYZ-NRT on one itin, then started a RTW in NRT with an NH flight to TPE.
AC not only checked my bag all the way, they even issued the NH boarding

AC Interline agreements
I don't see WY on the list: http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/before/eticket/
