An official POUG is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the Upgrade my class of travel with money link from within MMB, or the Upgrade to the next available cabin blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

Thanks for this post. Very useful info for me personally

PHX-LHR $250 each for WT to WT+. Well worth the price I have to say we really enjoyed this flight. Hopefully we can get a WT - CW on our return...

FEB 6TH BCN-LCY 79 GBP to upgrade to CE before completing the booking better value than paying the 125 offered after booking so I took it for the extra status credits.

GBP 109 for PHL-LHR WT to WT+in April, at the time of booking. I grabbed it thinking it was lower than the usual price, but maybe that is the standard price ? it was a WT sale price anyway so still a good deal

LHR-PHL was GBP 178 to upgrade WT to WTP, I declined

our return trip LHR-PHX was a disaster, we got stuck in the weather in Europe. Granted it was BA fault but luckly I had 3 weeks off so being stuck for an extra 6 days in London wasn't a problem. Getting flights out was a mess, having friends in London meant not paying for a hotel. So with that, our flight LHR - PHX was interesting, when I checked in was offered $250 WT to WT+ which I jumped on it having a great fly to LHR in WT+ the added room was nice. At the airport was offered $450 WT+ to WC, jumped on that. All I have to say is WOW. We flew UA IAD-CDG in J, wasn't all that impressed, but this flight was excellent. Sat in row 63 AB. Well worth the $700 total upgrade...

99% of travel is domestic travel here in the US, so traveling international is a new adventure for me and my partner. We flew on UA IAD-CDG in J and wasn't all that impressed. So the WC was a big step up for us as we had true lie flat seats and better service. Now I would like to try F on BA or any other international airline, but that wont be happening anytime soon.
