Your "fake email" constitutes harassment and a personal attack, IMO. You don't know anything about the OP or their issue.

Oh I know, "it's all in good fun". That explains anything...and makes it OK as well.
The sky is falling. The sky is falling. The sky is falling.

As for the "NW" jab, i see that and removed it. Calm down. Enjoy the beautiful weather in DLH.

To keep you from coming on FT and complaining that "he never even bothered to tell me the answer was no" ???

The OP had to be kidding, right? Either that or the OP is one of those members of the above decribed secret team that has to deal with requests for the supervisors of supervisors of etc. and just wants to see how many FTers would actually go after DL for not giving the OP his undeserved upgrade. Now THAT would have been the height of hubris for FTers. But as you can see from reading the posts we FTers are a completely rational, sane and objective group who only want what we legitimately deserve and NEVER side with radicals like the OP.

This thread is funny. Thanks for the entertainment while waiting in the SLC skyclub for an MX equip swap on a lovely RJ100. At least I'm stuffed full of tillamook cheese and carrots. lol
Any other FTers in SLC now?

I saw a reference to "phantom upgrades" and I've seen prior references to them. I know they were some kind of Northwest program, but exactly what were they? Were they essentially op-ups for elites? Were they only used in oversells? Were they just "Gee, the business class cabin has a few open seats, and Mr. JimRPA is standing here in front of me, so I'll just hand him a business class boarding pass and make his day because I'm in a happy mood" thing?

Sitting in bulkhead is the PREM seat, right? It's like, FC.. Forget all the peons.. No matter that you have to bump into everyone on your way back to the toilet. Shudder.

As was explained to us at the RTW/DO last year, the first rule of phantom upgrades is you don't talk about phantom upgrades. The second rule of the phantom upgrade program is, you DO NOT talk about phantom upgrades ...

Basically, if there were empty seats up front on int'l flights, they'd sometimes take the top 3 or 5 medallions and give them gate upgrades. It wasn't a published benefit, and wasn't anything you could ever count on, but was a really nice bonus thank-you gift for those medallions. Many of us feel that would go a long way towards making us happy, without the downside that terrifies revenue management, i.e. cannibalizing premium sales.

I still want to know what the OP told Anderson about why the OP thinks he/she deserves a free upgrade to BE on an ineligible fare.

There's a thread of 200+ post full of that. Perhaps the Mods can append this thread to it.

Let me see, I am going to create my own letter to Mr. Richard Anderson.

I will get a doctors note which will state due to current medical concerns, Mr. Lieu MUST be upgraded to business class on his ATL to JNB MR trip.

You should have kept it to yourself and send it out first since only the first request he receives will get upgraded. I bet someone will now beat you to it. I imagine some doctors here may just write one for themselves and fedex right now after reading your suggestion.
