for T-24,48,etc. UG, is countdown to start of itin or seg?
6/24 AS 52 FAI-ANC
6/25 AS 148 ANC-DEN
AS 677 DEN-SEA
all cleared at OLCI - i was surprised being the lowly MVP that I am. Did being able to check in T-24 for 52 (roughly T-34 for 677) put me ahead of other MVPs for the later segments? if so I might add longer layovers, enabling earlier check-in, to jump queue for later flights in the itinerary.
6/30 AS 492 SEA-SAN, cleared at IRL check-in
originally on 498, didn't look like UG would happen, so i managed to finagle the later one by using standby flexibility out of PDX and adding segment to GEG.

7/4 AS 225 SFO-SEA (5/16 still unassigned)
AS 125 SEA-FAI (7/12 still unassigned)
both cleared sometime after -48; guess the loads are light because of the fourth?

no upgrade love for me to ATL on Monday....but then again, it was sold to me as a DL ticket. On the up side, I do have free wi-fi all the way down, and exit rows for the remainder of my flights...all on DL metal.

Those PDX - Hawaii flights seem pretty easy to score upgrades on. I am planning on a PDX-OGG trip later this year mostly to secure an easy long-haul upgrade
Despite reaching AS' newest top tier, it seems that there are no systems that actually designate 75K status and 5-day upgrades are NOT in effect.
23Jul2010 AS518 SEA-SNA upgraded approx 96 hours out. I saw U space available, called MVPG reservations line, and the upgrade was handled manually.
26Jul2010 AS515 SNA-SEA Sat in 13D for this one
At 72 hours out, it went from F4 U2 Y0 to F2 U0 Y2. Obviously 2 MVPG upgrades cleared. Mine did not, and the other 2 F seats disappeared shortly thereafter with no U space ever reappearing. At the gate, I was #2 on a list at least a dozen long.
So my mistake on that last one, I didn't have time to call between 72 and 120 hours out to manually request my upgrade, and I thought that 75K's would get bumped up the list automatically. Evidently that is NOT happening yet. For now a 75K is just a regular MVPG who has flown a lot.

I fared up to a value fare a few months ago (price difference was only $50 -60 more than hot deals) for PDX-HNL inaugural on 9/20/10. No U was left at that time but I just checked and I'm in a F seat. Good outcome on my first value fare.
Now just have to call in cert ugrades for the remaining flights for the year
DOH F is sold out on my BOS-PDX flight on 9/17
