Competitive card to Centurion [for airline elite status]?
Are there any other card(s) out there that offer similar benefits to that of the Centurion card? Especially interested in elite status with the airlines?

There are, of course, airline affinity cards which offer the opportunity to earn Elite Qualifying Miles or Tier Points to accelerate status, and it is possible to use credit card spending to achieve lifetime status on American Airlines, but I think you mean cards which award status outright?

No credit card currently offers annual AA status nor even Elite Qualifying Miles/Points toward status. However, it is possible to achieve lifetime Gold status by earning 1,000,000 AAdvantage miles or lifetime Platinum by earning 2,000,000. For lifetime status all miles from any source are counted. For annual status only Elite Qualifying Miles or Points count.

The subject is "Is there a competitive card to Centurion ?".
My understanding is, that the poster whishes to have other cards compared to Centurion ... not only Amex products since no other Amex card compares to Centurion obviously
Therefore moving the posts to another thread was not a good idea, IMHO.

If that was true, why pray tell do you suppose that the Centurion cardholders here (of which I am NOT one) are paying a $5000 initiation fee and $2500 per year?

So, basically your thinking that some company out there is offering benefits that are the same or similar to the Centurion card, right?
If that was true, why pray tell do you suppose that the Centurion cardholders here (of which I am NOT one) are paying a $5000 initiation fee and $2500 per year?
