I got the same promotion in my email today. I'm surprised to get the "we haven't seen you around in awhile!", since I've flown 3 paid roundtrips in the last month, the most recent one on April 12. The email started with "Your Rapid Rewards A-List Member update", so I wonder if this is targeted to certain or all A-Listers?
Anyway, I have plain old text email so there was no registration link. When I first got the email I logged into my account and looked under Promotions and didn't see anything new. Waited an hour or two, logged in again and checked Promotions and the new promotion ("EXCLUSIVE OFFER - BONUS CREDIT 4/23-6/12/09") was available for registration.

Oops
hey everyone, we did have a problem today with the e-mails having a bad link. As some of you have found out, we sent the corrected e-mails to the affected Members, along with a note of apolgy. Thanks for your patience.

I got the same email. My last trip was < 1 month ago, but I have definitely cut back on WN over the past year.
Here's my reaction - (yawn). Half a credit to stimulate travel over the next 7 weeks? You cannot be serious (thanks Johnny Mac). If WN really wants to stimulate travel we need to see a return of the triple credit offers. And a longer promotion period.
No doubt this is a great deal for BS travelers (though I doubt RR credits are the driver for most trips, especially in this cost-cutting environment). However, the only leisure travelers to benefit from this promotion will be tthose who need to fly in the next couple of months and haven't already booked. But nobody is going to say "Gee, I should grab that $100 flight to PHX because I can get a .5 credit now".
P.S. Don't get me wrong - I am always happy to see a promo. But next time let's put a little meat on the bones.

My coworker figured he got it since he hadn't flown today ... he did fly yesterday and three other times in the past week though ... why else would they miss him?
Edited to add: I just checked my coworkers account and he also got the offer to buy 5-7 BS tickets get one free promo award, buy 8 or more and get two free promo awards. If he was a glutton for punishment (and didn't have more awards than he could use already anyway), he could do an award run MCI-STL, be about $1,000 and he'd get 8 segments, 26 credits (1.25 + 2 for each flight), and 2 promo awards, not a bad deal, especially if the person needed some credits for CP (which increases the value of the earned credits).

As usual, I have (so far) received nada promotion from SWA. Guess being a CP holder for 4 years now means I am not eligible.
curb -- haven't you flown WN recently? "We miss seeing you onboard"
I always wonder what the criteria are for such promos, when targeted. Lack of transparency is another form of elitism!

The offer I just received was
Buy and fly 2 Biz Select or Anytime roundtrips (or 4 1-ways) by 6/12/09, get a free award ticket good through 12/31/09.
I haven't flown WN in perhaps 2 years. I'll say this is a pretty good offer.

My offer is similar
Book and fly Business Select between now and July 15, 2009 and make your travel more rewarding. If you fly 5 to 7 one-way trips, we will give you 1 promotional award on top of the credits you earn normally. Fly 8 or more one-way trips, and we will give you an additional promotional award.
Terms and Conditions
Only members who receive this email from Southwest Airlines are eligible for this promotion. Offer is non-transferable. *Offer applies only to new reservations booked between April 16, 2009 and July 15, 2009 *Registration prior to travel is required *Your travel must be flown between April 16, 2009 and July 15, 2009 *Rapid Rewards account number must be entered at time of booking *Member will receive 1 promotional roundtrip award after flying 5 qualifying Business Select one-way flights. Member will receive 1 additional promotional roundtrip award (total of 2 awards) after flying 8 qualifying Business Select one-way flights. *Free award will be deposited into Member's account within 10 days of Member completing qualifying travel *Free award will expire on December 31, 2009. Award expiration date cannot be extended. *Maximum of 2 free promotional awards may be earned by each eligible Member *Member will continue to earn Rapid Rewards credit on all flights *Travel on Award or Companion Pass does not qualify for promotion *Wanna Get Away, Anytime, Senior and Ding! fares are not eligible *Youth, Child, Infant, Military, and Federal Government Fares are not eligible *Promotion cannot be combined with any offer or promotion *Offer not valid with Southwest Airlines Vacations packages *Changes made to the itinerary after purchase may eliminate qualification for this promotion *The Rapid Rewards Award is free, but travel is subject to the government-imposed September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per roundtrip *All Rapid Rewards rules and regulations apply *Business Select not available on every flight. Fly By available at participating airports.
My question is this: Does the award post as earning 16 credits or just post as a free RT? I'm a CP holder and "earning" 16 credits x 2 would go a long long way towards helping me renew.
