As a GS on a full fare ticket, I did not clear two IAD-LAX flights in a row. I was BP5 and lots of even no status BP1's ahead of me.

Ummm you were BP5B correct? At a hub like ORD, even ma or pa kettle will misconect with no status and trump you as a BP5A.

Not only have I been #1 after F checked in full, but in the most recent case the flight was then delayed by 90 minutes and I got to watch the screen flaunt it in my face over, and over, and over, and over.......

As they should be, that's the purpose of assigning a priority. BP1's have purchased a ticket for that flight, status doesn't (and shouldn't) mean a BP1 goes lower than BP5.

Yea. I agree. Was just pointing out to the OP that it is easy to drop down a list fast if there are other issues.

No more BP5A and B?
Maybe I'm going nuts or have not been on standby for a long time, but I thought the BP5 list was broken into two parts. BP5A for disserviced/misconnected passengers and then BP5B for those who are just stand-bying. My recent waitlist card just shows BP5 is there no such thing as an A list anymore?

I don't recall Departure Management cards using the sub-letter -- just BP5.

So pretty much you just have to take their word to see whether you were placed on the correct BP5 list? Ah well, I remember sweet talking/correcting GAs in the past who put me on the wrong list.

As an FYI/addition to the list, there is apparently also a BP0 - didn't see that mentioned anywhere. I'm on that right now as a result of having a confirmed and checked-in seat on a flight that has had an equipment downgrade. Cannot get a new seat assigned online or by calling, even though the agent says the flight (post downgauge) is not full.

Totally Confused....I was first on the standby and the GA went ahead and put 2 pax ahead of me: citing UA had inconvienced them and they had to put them on a 5A list. I was on 5B list. I literally saw my name go from 1 to 3. What's the deal with this? I confirmed that the other pax (party of 2) had no status.

BP5A is for disserviced passengers - for example, people who got involuntarily bumped off another flight or whose flight delays caused them to miss a connection.
