Seasonal clothing in San Diego?

Well this could be the dumbest question ever... but coming from a city where late fall/winter months mean cold-weather clothing (sweaters, boots, no sandals) -- I was just wondering (due to an upcoming trip) in San Diego whether the calendar months help to dictate clothing and shoe style/color or if it's summer year 'round Bring sandals, and summer styled clothes (light/bright colors).... or something for warmer weather but less summer-like?

Thanks in advance!

San Diego is a very laid back city and there is no clothing "code"! 10 months out of the year it is warm, and the other two it is a little less warm If you are coming in the winter you can still bring your sandals and shorts. You may want to bring something a little dressier for eating out in nice restaurants nothing too fancy. You wouldn't believe what people wear or rather don't wear here in CA! Once I was in a restaurant where a girl walked in wearing what I would SWEAR was her underwear! (Fancy bustier, garters etc it was pretty outrageous) I see girls wearing their pajamas in Target, guys in their surfer shorts and no tops. In the business arena, people do wear clothes - shirts with ties, but for the most part people dress very casually.

I think it depends on where you are going and what you are planning on doing. Jan Feb are usually beautiful months there!
