Upgrades
  • FE – Y fare that has been upgraded at time of ticketing, earns 150% EQMs. There are no capacity restrictions on FE as it is a subset of the F fare bucket (this means as long as there’s first class seats for sale, one can upgrade into it.)
  • ZE - B or M (Platinums only) fare that has been upgraded at time of ticketing, earns EQMs/EQPs based on the underlying purchased fare (B/M).**
Please note, these are only applicable for non-BusinessFirst routes and neither FE nor ZE are valid for BusinessFirst upgrades.
    .
  • R – Elite Upgrade (EUA), Voucher and Mileage Upgrades (accrues RDMs/EQMs in the fare original booked). Please note: R is capacity controlled, unlike ZE, so even though a seat may be for sale in the premium cabin you many not be able to upgrade into it immediately. If you are on the waitlist, however, you should clear in to it eventually unless the seats sell out.
  • Z* - Elite Upgrade (EUA), Voucher and Mileage Upgrades (accrues RDMs/EQMs in the fare original booked). When reported on your OnePass statement a flight that is upgraded will be designated as Z* where the * is replaced by the original booking code. So a W fare that gets an EUA would be ZW. This is a reporting mechanism and not a bucket that one can book directly into. It allows Continental to acknowledge that the customer flew in the forward cabin on an economy ticket.
Freebies (0% Miles, 0% EQM)
  • I – First, Business, BusinessFirst Reward
  • O – Platinum First or BF Reward
  • XN – Elite Coach Reward
  • X - Standard Economy Reward or Bump Cert, Coach Certificate (Fly 3…)
EasyPass Rewards (0% Miles, 0% EQM)
  • YN – Economy (elites only)
  • FN – First/BusinessFirst (elites only)
  • ZN - First/BusinessFirst non-Elite capacity controlled EasyPass reward (tracks similar to Z availability to book)
  • KN - Coach non-Elite capacity controlled EasyPass reward (tracks similar to M availability to book)

** The ZE fare may be an upgrade from either B or M if the customer is a Platinum or PPlatinum elite member. The earnings are still based on the underlying fare basis.
