I wonder if that's the same guy at AMS that seems to try to stick his hand down as deep below men's pant waist line as he can.

I prefer transits and flying to/from CPH far more than AMS and (certainly) LHR given the current state of affairs at these airports.

Scary if he is!
 

Well, I certainly hope that we do not have a serial offender here.

It all started because I forgot to remove my waistbelt before going through the scanner. So it beeped. I asked to be allowed to go back and remove the belt.

That was denied. At this point I got the impression that the people who worked at that security line were not amongst the most educated of the Dutch nation.

Then I asked for a supervisor. He came (looked very Dutch) and spoke English like from a Marlon Brando film. Maybe a John Wayne. :rolleyes:

He went on a fume about the security at other airports being really poor and then said exactly this: "This man is going to frisc you! And he is going to do a DAMN GOOD JOB!"

Then the man he pointed at frisced me and when he reached my groin he did something and said something that was criminal.

Did the guy at AMS who did that have a shaved head (or at least recently shaved very closely and look to likely be of Dutch or some other European ethnic origin and somewhere around 5'8" and 5'11" in height? (That is, he's not one of the short guys working there, but he's certainly not on the tall side either.) If so, then we may well be referring to the same Dutch guy; or if not -- and this is acceptable practice there -- this is a bigger problem. Either way, petty disgusting behavior that clearly is not being dealt with appropriately by management.

I've been asking for more people to push for material recorded by cameras in public places to be entered as public domain material -- and this would cover security cameras in public areas, including those that record movements in airport terminals. There's a lot of resistance to this, but I think it would do wonders to check this kind of nonsense and level the playing field.

Hmm... not sure if I would want that. Combine cameras in public domain, face recognition and... GOOGLE... Sounds Orwellian to me... Where there is no limitation on who can watch...

I'm definitely not a fan of fixed widescale automatic monitoring of this sort either. But where such recording facilities exist (sort of), I'd rather not give governments a monopoloy on information, particularly when they are using it akin to the manner noted above (or at least they are trying to use it in a manner akin to that noted above) but then are holding it back when it comes to members of the public trying to hold governments in check by getting access to the same facilities/material.

In this case of an AMS security screener (or screeners) sticking hands down men's pants at the screening checkpoint -- even where the WTMD has not been set off -- I'd like the footage to be available to at least those who were recorded so that they can use the material against this kind of "screening". It is disappointing to hear that others here have witnessed or -- worse yet -- experienced this at AMS as well.

Ok. Now we are talking. ;) I wonder if these kind of things would sort under the data protection act. I guess not as your name or any other personally identifiable information is stored with the picture. I do agree though that the video should be available to anyone complaining against the actions of the scanners.

I wouldn't even be surprised that certain airport owners would like the idea. To them the screeners are 3rd party providers (in many locations), and I believe that due to the increased security the last decade the quality / experience of the screeners is going drastically down because of the increased number of scanners and the poor working conditions they generally have to enjoy. A proper way to complain to the airport owner about the way their providers are providing services would in most way benefit the airport.

In general security screening is one of those catch-22 jobs. You'd want to have highly trained, skilled and experienced people, but you cannot really pay them well (cause you have to have so many), and their job is awfully boring...

The new common security check point for terminal 2 + 3 at CPH just opened today at June 1 st ^ It will replace the separate security check points for Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 + the extra " busy period" security check point between 2 and 3 .

I´ve only had a peek from downstairs, but it looks great ! The security check area has been redesigned to better meet current demands, and it should also mean more effective use of resources, when you have it all in one place.

But no changes to the SAS fast track.

I tried out the new security controll 14:30 today, 30min after it opened. Looks good, and it is big!

But the best, to celebrate the opening, they served champagne (Piper-Heidsick) and snack.......which is the reason it took me forever to get through as I served myself more than once:D

Let's hope they will actually staff all those many lanes so that waiting times will be kept down. Glad to hear Fast-track is unchanged...:)
