but as i stated, the airline is no way losing money, they are earning money, as someone (insurance / travelagent etc. ) have to pay and they get extra money, so in a case like this, its the smartest thing to close the loopwhole and just honor it.

its not worth to try to get the people angry by sending ridiculous emails out.

SAS is not sending anything ... maybe Expedia is currently feeling the pain somehow although I cannot figure out how ...

Maybe SAS is collecting the difference from Expedia instead and they decided to collect it from us.

In worst case scenario SAS is losing money. After every one of us cancels their tickets, SAS will have empty C again.

sas

as i have to go somehow to europe to pick up the ticket, i was planning to do so with an SAS tix .

its not all about take and run.

if they act fair, i will be fair too.

but i think SAS is honoring it, only german expedia is trying to get some people to cancel. but i think they well know they do not have a chance.

[Crosspost so it gets more attention}

Expedia.de is the one that is emailing their customers. They only have a call-center here in Germany that basically takes calls/emails and forwards them to Expedia's office in Munich. They try pretty well to prevent anyone getting in contact with Expedia directly, but you can call

(089) 37 00 63 - 0

in case you want to speak to some decisionmaker (the number is burried somewhere on their website). Let them know that you are unhappy with the situation and their handling of it.

For my case I just spoke to their head of customer service and was promised to be called back within an hour with a solution - hopefully they will decide to honor the tickets as they are booked right now. FWIW they indeed put the blame on Worldspan who supplied them with the fare they proclaim to be "wrong". I let them know pretty clearly that with fares around at 1€ within Germany (tax included) a 200-times fare is not all that surprising for a Business Class ticket to Shanghai...

Let's see how things develop...

Greetings - Dirk

I would guess it just means that they "reprint" the ticket. Although I am not 100% sure.

So am I right in understanding that so far only Expedia.de has been sending out such emails?

derpelikan Aug 2, 2005 5:29 am

hehe

we changed our tickets before expedia realized there is something wrong.

we called 8 SAS agents to get it done.
my friend has a rerouting via munich, and we can 2 stopovers on each direction.

this was confirmed by SAS .

so SAS reissued the tix for us , and the costs are the same. nothing changed for our bookings.

but , its great. win win for us all. and i will as promised book my sas ticket to europe now.

damn i love it :)

Just awoke to this here in the US. So far, I have received no e-mails from Expedia and my itinerary is still showing with a SAS ticket number. It looks like SAS my step up to the plate and take these over from Expedia. If so, a very nice move IMO.

derpelikan Aug 2, 2005 6:24 am

yes

they will honor it :)

I have heard nothing, but the good news is that the *NO AUTO-PRICING* addendum that was in my fare rules on EXPEDIA are now gone. It apparently wasn't there when most of us ticketed, but it showed up in my bookings a few hours ago. Now it is gone and I take that as a very good sign. :)

Nothing here either. I also noticed that *NO AUTO-PRICING* is gone.

Decided to test everything and called SAS; everything seems to be okay, I have the seats I requested for and my EB number is in the reservation. They emailed me my routing information and everything seems perfectly okay.

I booked through expedia.de but haven't got any email, so it can't be a mass mail...perhaps they first sent it to some people, but then changed their minds.

derpelikan Aug 2, 2005 9:29 am

dont worry

its ticketed and all fine. so you will get your flight :)
