My offer of July 1 friday evening in ARN is still open. I have 5hrs to kill! (17.15-22.40)

I guess most people are busy in the summer, but we should be able to do a get together.

I’m having my first FT lunch on Thursday in Chicago with some of the UA flyers.

I guess I’ll take the challenge and make something happen.

First of all, we have to find a location, people wanted to do ARN? And does anyone have a suggestion for a date, should it be during the week or on a weekend day? Some dates I can make it: I am in Europe between July 22nd and August 5th, flying on the 6th with SK943, be back on the 9th, but I am busy that next weekend, flying to the US again on the 17th on UA 905. I would guess Friday the 29th of July would be a good day?

I will contact SAS today and tell them about our little get together today and see what they can come up with.

Any other suggestions?

Update:

Spoke with a public relations manager at the SAS head office in Sweden. He was thrilled with the idea and would love to make a nice happening at the technical part, flight academy, operations and the tower. He was also happy to arrange cheaper hotels.

He wanted me to e-mail what we would be interested in seeing and doing, so let me hear it!

So a program would look like this:

10.20 We meet up at ARN somewhere, so people flying in will be able to make it, if larsll or anyone else are flying in from LHR/CDG, we need to know that.

We’ll have a guide from SK who will take us around.

13.00 Lunch somewhere

More sightseeing

Around 15.30 We’ll take the train or bus downtown and have dinner somewhere.

If anyone objects or has other suggestions, please let me know.

That was quick! :) Bjornstrom, no wonder you never get to Platinum - you're too slow!:D

Things I would like to do/see:

- The tower
- The flight academy, obviously including simulator etc
- Operations centre
- The guy who enhanced the Eurobonus program
- A stroll around in one of the A333s (not likely, but I still want to)
- Vouchers for future travel with SK
- An insight into SK's future plans
- And then some!

My only objection is that I will probably not be able to attend anything on the 29th, since I will be arriving from DUB only later that evening. How about the Friday after that, August 5th? By the way, does it have to be a weekday, or is Saturday an option as well? If so, July 30th is fine with me.

Personally, I think we should do a FT-tour of Scandinavia. A meeting in ARN now another time in CPH and yet another in OSL!

Sounds great.

- Id like to see one of the new simulators - I've seen the helicopter simulator and it looked really cool. Maybe the Airbus 330/340 simulators if they have them at Flight Academy now (my visit was pre-airbus).

- I haven't seen the new higher controltower either, would be cool to see.

So morradi wants to do saturday 30th of July? I dont know if Flight Academy is open on Saturdays, but I will check.

Bjornstrom, what day is good for you?

oliver2002 Jun 28, 2005 9:14 am

I will arrive in ARN on SK 946 on July 31, perhaps we could do it on a sunday?

I'll definitely be up for joining! Great job tommy777! ^
I'm starting to feel like FT is my second home, and it would be nice to meet as many as possible of my "second family"! :D

It would really be great if we could meet both an EB and SAS representative as well! That would really add value to this meeting, and would be great for us all... A great way to carry a constructive conversation with them, and share some thoughts and experiences and get a further insight into what they really think...

I will ask SAS if they can have a representative from both SAS and EB, so we can have a little sit-down some time during the day.

What day do you prefer Point_Chaser?

Right now I'm not 100% sure how end of July looks as I may have to do some travelling then, but weekends are actually the best bet!
29JUL works for me... right now... As it looks like I will be able to have some time off then. But that's the problem... A full month until then! :p
Spend a lot of time in Stockholm, so hopefully it will work! I will plan my schedule around this as far as possible! Gotta prioritise this, right?! :p

Bjornstrom Jun 28, 2005 1:00 pm

I can adjust my calendar if I get maybe 1-2 weeks planning ahead. Im working in Malmö right now so im only 1.5 hours away including taxi to Sturup.

Ill try to find more people for this gathering, a nice way to recruit people to our Eurobonus forum.

Great!

Prioritise we must! So it looks like Saturday the 30th for morradi, the rest of us can the 29th, morradi, can you take Friday off?

I think we should do dinner downtown Stockholm after we are done. I will stay over night.

tommy777 Jun 28, 2005 2:12 pm

Going to the US EARLY in the morning, so I wont be online all day and most of Thursday. I will e-mail the SAS PR-guy when we are set on a date.

The 2 suggested dates are July 29. and July 30.

Anyone else wants to join, you are all welcome!

I will post a new thread when the date is set!
