Moving to the US - which programs do status matching to EB?
I'm Eurobonus Gold and will be qualified for all of 2012, but now that I am moving to the US I don't think I will fly SAS very much.
Does anyone have experience with status matching or migrating to another program in the US? I guess the natural choice would be United since they are also *A.

It is not necessarily a bad thing to keep Eurobonus if you intend to fly with *A. EBG will grant you lounge access even for US domestic trips for instance. Downside could be upgrade options if you intend to fly alot in coach with UA/US/CO.

I'm living in the US for a year and kept my EBG, but I have also startet my way to status on BAEC as BA has direct flights SAN-LHR. If I had been here for more than a year and flying a lot domestic I would have gone for CO/UA as the first/biz domestic tickets are relatively expensive with respect to what you get in return.

1. Delta is the only airline of the big 3 legacy carriers (Delta, United, American) that offers a status match. United and American offers challenges for the status.
2.If you are going to fly a lot domestic it would be worth getting status on an a carrier in the US as many of the offer upgrades for free.
3. Consider the airline that is convenient - for example getting on *A in Atlanta is hard as it is a Delta hub.
As for the challenges, they usually have it for different statuses.
Personally I have switched to United and is 1K - 2 years running now. I have been very pleased, free upgrades to Biz class from economy on international flights 80+% of free domestic upgrades. However, I would be hesitant at this point to suggest United until end of the first quarter 2012 as they are in the middle of the merger with Continental.

Thanks for the replies! Yes I was thinking of the upgrade potential etc. I will be in San Francisco so not at all convenient for SAS in the first place, and I might very well do some direct flights to Asia, as well as trips to Sweden and other places in Europe occasionally. Don't expect all that much domestic US travel but you never know.
