I do not see any new option on Yelp so I take it there are no parking updates?

Long term economy is still outrageous so I guess I will check Spothero

I hate waiting for shuttles so I like this plan. And price is right. Will try!

Just an update on this since my last post: parking is now on the right side, looking at the building. And it's up to $6/day :)

Cheers.

For terminal A, I take it you simply turn right after you enter the airport, rather than left? I was looking to see if there was another way to cut under 87 Guadalupe Parkway but it looks like Airport Parkway is the only option through the woods

Don’t initially turn right. No way in. Go all the way in as if going to Terminal B, then turn right when you reach the airport itself.

Cheers.

Just to update on Spothero parking at 2025 Gateway:

Positives:
  • Plenty of spaces, no need to endlessly circle a garage or lot
  • Walking distance from SJC, no wait for shuttle. Sidewalks in good condition.
  • Cheap!
Negatives:
  • Even at a good clip, it was a 10 minute hike to Term A - no fun in inclement weather or high temps. Homeless camped under overpass along route
  • May have uncertain wait time if you need rideshare
  • No visible parking lot security
  • Airport parking area umarked in lot (maybe on purpose to deter crime?)
Practice tip: you can shave a couple minutes off the walk to terminal by cutting across the parking lot next door.

A couple of comments:

It is always possible to nip across the street and take the DoubleTree shuttle in bad weather 😀

The parking area is definitely marked with blue signs in front of the parking area spaced every few spaces. At least as far as 25 cars back, likely further.

We’ve been parking in this lot for several years, even before it was SpitHero, and we have seen security patrons at times, but likely not frequent, so there is that.

Yes, definitely do a diagonal cut across the lot next door to cut distance.

Cheers.

It's marked, but as I said a dozen or so posts back, "but if vehicles are already parked in the spots with the signs you won't see them.". Once you know where the area is it's easy to find the signs, but if you weren't aware then it can be a bit harder - especially given that the first time I parked here SpotHero had screwed up and had photos for a location in Concord rather than the right one in San Jose (to their credit, they did fix that quickly when I pointed it out)!
