Is 36 minutes between connecting flights in San Jose enough?
Trying to book an upcoming flight. One option has us coming in on United and 36 minutes later going out on Alaska Airlines to Maui. Is this doable? Or no way? Never been thru San Jose before, so I don't know. Thanks for any help!

I would probably leave a bit more time, since its Maui and missing a flight is like missing part of your vacation.

pc_momof3, welcome to FlyerTalk. For more views, let me move this to the Travel->San Francisco forum, where Bay Area airport connections are oft discussed. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

You can make it from arrival to boarding at SJC within 36 minutes, provided you don't have significant mobility challenges (including family in tow). But there's no guarantee your inbound flight arrives on time. If it's even 15 minutes late you might not make your connection. And since flights to Hawaii are once a day, you'll miss a whole day (at least) if you're 15 minutes late.
