This is great - Thank You.

None within 100 miles of zipcode 60632 :(
|
Thanx!!!
|
You made some folks happy OP,thank you ^

Also, there's usually a print coupon ($6 off of $30) in Wednesday's grocery circulars you get in the mail. That also has whatever specials they're running that week. They also upped the ante. You used to get $5 off of $20, which was a great deal.
Cheers. |

They are going to have a tough time weening their customers off these coupons, I guess upping the spend by $5 is a start. Now, the next question is: will Fresh & Easy last?
My best 'score' was I ended up w/ 3 of those $5 off of $20 coupons. I had just come back from a long trip & was doing monthly grocery shopping. I started to buy stuff & went drat, I can only use the coupon once, and then the @:-) went on. I bought $20 of stuff, got the $5 off, put the stuff in the trunk, went back in & repeated 2 more times immediately following :D . Then I went to Ralph's to get the stuff that F&E didn't have & spent the same amount on 1 bag that I got 5 bags at at F&E. LOL. FWIW - the extra $1 off for extra $10 spend isn't enough to steer me to F&E. I obviously preferred the lower, but do understand why they raised it. And if someone is buying more, especially for families, it will still come in handy. I heard the F&E where I live is the most profitable in the bunch/has done gangbusters. Cheers. |
The coupon has been updated with an expiration of 11/30.
All locations are closed on Thursday, November 27, Thanksgiving Day. |
These are stackable as long as you comply with T&Cs regarding pre-tax price and prohibited items :)
|
Yes, I've had no trouble using two $5 off $20 coupons in a single transaction if I've rung up $40 of eligible purchases.

Coupon now expires December 9.
|
Despite the "one per transaction" term, I've had no problems with the actual store taking more than one coupon -- ie, two $6 off $30 coupons on a $60 total.
|
Looks like they're still posting these coupons on the website.
http://freshandeasy.com/coupon.aspx A bit off topic, but relevant....a few new Fresh and Easy locations are due to open in the LA area soon, or for those of us living East of downtown there are a few at least. One location on Main street on the border of Alhambra/So Pasadena opens mid January 2009. I also just noticed that the old Jurgensen's -> Mrs Gooch's -> Wild Oats -> Whole Foods -> closed completely (on the corner of California & Oak Knoll/Lake in Pasadena) has a sign posted that it will be come a Fresh & Easy. Nice location, but, parking logistics are terrible at this place and has always been as long as I can remember. |
It appears the coupons are history.
No sign of them on the website. And this just as a new Fresh and Easy opens not a block away from us. :( |
wow! this really sounds tempting...

They are back. We got a 6 off 30 in the normal circulars and then we looked in the trash can (we live in a condo) and got about 7 $5 off 20 cupons. Not sure if we'll use them but we might need to make a trip over...

They're only back when they're online and can be printed at will IMO. Just like the good ol' days of a few weeks ago. Flyers in SkiAdcock's snailmail box and trekwars2000's trash can don't do the rest of us a whole lot of good. :( |

Cheers. |
As suggested previously.....go to the Grand Opening day at your local location. I went to the first location F&E ever opened in Glasell Park/Los Angeles. They give away free shopping bags, various coupons, and have Grand Opening bargains on certain products.
I would also suggest....Ask the associate who is stationed as the cashier assistant if they have any coupons for your next visit. I've had coupons handed to me just for asking. |
other sources
any other page as good as Fresh and easy?
|
wow! thanx ...really appreciate your sharing it with all of us!

I really love Fresh & Easy and I have only shopped at the Manhattan Beach location. I must have gone there 3 times over the Thanksgiving weekend. I sure wish there were more of 'em all across the country.
I used to love Trader Joe's the same way, but after doing price comparisons in the last two months, I found that very few things are still cheaper at Trader Joe's than at Kroger etc. They used to be a true low-cost shop, but I think they have raised their prices too much. An example - CLIF Kidz bars are .69 at TJ's and .49 at Whole Foods. PLUS, at Whole Foods you get a quantity discount if you buy a bunch. Another example - 5lb box of Clementines at Trader Joes was 6.99, but 4.99 across the street at a big chain grocer. |
I've been shopping at TJ's for 25 years and I've never considered them a low cost seller.
What they started out as was a hippie-dippie, save-the-planet, organic and natural foods place. They've moved somewhat away from the natural foods/organic focus but that's still a part of their identity. But where they and Fresh & Easy truly part company is on carrying nationally branded items. 80% of TJ's offerings are their own brand(s) or some very specialized and regional brands vs. maybe 40% for Fresh & Easy. F&E carries a lot of nationally branded items versus nearly zilch for TJ's. Plus F&E, at least initially, has some very attractive pricing vs. the traditional super market chains. To break into the competitive SoCal grocery market they needed to have a pricing advantage and needed to float a gazillion 20-25% off coupons as they had been doing. The coupons are becoming harder to find. Let's see how long the lower prices last. |

Today was the Grand Opening of a location closer to where I live. They did indeed pass out booklets with four coupons good for each of the next four weeks ($5 off of $20 purchase) I'm not sure how long they will have these to give out at the store, but there are indeed coupons out there!! Not to stray too much off topic, it was interesting to see shelves FULLY stocked and with quite a variety of products. I was thinking to myself "don't get used to it, within a month they'll only stock the items that sell". As an example a tray with TWO Teriyaki Hamburger patties was priced at about $5.00, quite a poor value in contrast to the Grill pack of 4 hamburger patties, 4 Italian sausage links, and 8 pc. of marinated chicken for $5.99. |

I've given up on Fresh & Easy. Too many items that are about to expire the next day, and too many items I've bought have had mold grow on them within 2 days of purchase. Their customer service department couldn't care less.
Spending $30 just to save $5 is not worth poor food and makes me appreciate the simpleness & honesty of Trader Joes. |

The laundry I use is across the street(French Laundry-absolutely the finest in SoCal)and parking is already a mess for them with folks using their small parking strip to run accross the street to Peets. |
Does anyone know if 'regular' (ie, the kind that come in flyers w/ Sunday's newspaper) coupons can be used at F&E, or is it their coupons only? Using reg coupons in addition to theirs could really reduce the food bill. Any info appreciated.
Cheers. |

Cheers. PS.. I have an extra booklet of these Sharon if you want one. |
Also adding that after about 8:30pm, the store associates go through the products checking expiry dates and do 50% reductions on items expiring that day or sometimes the next day.
They place the items in specific areas of the market with a big red bar coded sticker. Most items are in perfectly edible condition and if you are going to eat it that day or the next day anyway, it's still good (IMO). |
