Too bad, I am accumlating points for Hilton award. The only other value I see is Walgreens gift card.

Interesting..on 10 March there is a HHonors deposit for 500 points from MyPoints...with the same description as the 500 points from MyPoints I got when I first joined last year...maybe someone typed in my HHonors # by mistake when registering with MyPoints, or is it a parting gift?

HHonors redemption is permanently gone

I just asked a My Points CSR if Hhonors was coming back. She said no. I asked what happened. She put me on hold for 13 minutes. I hung up and called back and she said that she didn't have the info as to what happened other than My Points and Hilton came to a mutual decision to no longer partner together. She said if one were to email them in a couple of weeks, they may have more info to share as to why this decision was made. I asked if she was certain that they were no longer partnering together or could it be, perhaps, just that they were amending the redemption values, etc. She said that the severance of their relationship with Hilton was certain. I asked if they would be adding another travel partner to replace Hilton Hhonors and she said, again, that she didn't know.

Probably the wrong HHonors #

My Points deposits all of the redemption points that Hhonors account holders have requested on a certain day of the month and only that day. If you redeem My Points for Hhonors points on, for example, Aug. 1, and your neighbor redeems some on Aug. 27, if that redemption day of the month is Aug. 27 or later, both points will post on the same day. I do not know how they decide what day is the Hhonors sweep day.

Having said that, I requested points to be redeemed for Hhonors points in February. My points were deposited into my Hilton Hhonors account March 10. It's likely that March 10 is the day that My Points sweeps all Hhonors redemptions for the month prior.

Since your points showed up that same day, March 10, it seems logical that your 500 points were the result of someone incorrectly entering in their Hhonors account #. If they were some sort of a parting gift, it seems more reasonable that the points would show up on the Hhonors sweep day of the very last redemption cycle for Hhilton and since other FTers here have posted that they saw the Hhonors redemption on the My Points site only a few days ago, there is likely one last day of sweeping which presumably should be somewhere around April 10.

That's possible, but since it was only 500 points (and I understood that MyPoints had redemption in increments of 5,000 points only), I think it was someone who got a welcome bonus for joining MyPoints through a Hilton referral. I guess I won't spend those points just yet. Thanks for your ideas!

I redeemed on 1/27 but did not get the March 10 deposit as others describe. I guess I will have to e mail and ask.

If HH will ever come back , I wouldnt expect it to be in the way of Pts, but rather like Marriott and Hyatt as Gift Cards:mad: But if HH doesnt have a GC system then Id doubt wed ever see them back again.

Seems with the Sole exception of UA all that we can Redeem for are GCs

Marriott @ 6750 for $50 is like 3/4 of a cent per pt in value, its gets alittle better if you cash out for a higher value MR GC. Or clicking onto 1350 emails. Is it worth it is another matter. Somone who shops alot will have to see if they are better off using another portal for earning whatever.

Ill probbaly go with the UA 5000 pts for 2500 miles as a way to keep my UA miles from expiring, till they are used up or UA is no longer.

Thanks for the report, sinfonia.

So besides e-rewards, what are the other HH "earning" ops still out there?

That makes sense. I hadn't known there was a Hilton referral program - I guess I missed the boat on that one.

You definitely should. Those should have posted some time ago now.

I received a reply from MyPoints

Dear Member,

Thank you for contacting MyPoints Member Services.

Unfortunately, Hilton Honors has recently been unable to process MyPoints redemption requests in a timely manner. In our efforts to provide the best member experience, MyPoints has indefinitely suspended its relationship with Hilton Honors and removed them from our Rewards section.

We are still waiting for Hilton to process all pending redemptions and will have more information on a fulfillment date shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Sounds like they're gone for good :(

Funny, e-rewards processes HH points instantaneously. I wonder if it's not MyPoints who isn't paying for those points on a timely basis.

I think it's time to order some gift cards and bail on this program.

I wonder that too. It's always easier to blame the other party, isn't it?

In their reply, it sounds ridiculous to suspend a partner relationship simply because delaying point posting. If Skymiles operated under the same principle, Delta would be out of partners very soon. :p

Last time I check, Hilton is still going strong. Why would anyone kick out an very established business partner? It's usually the other way around, isn't it?

marlin Mar 26, 2008 5:12 pm

I got the same reply as Mary. Ridiculous.

Oh, man! What a pity.

It looks like e-Rewards is the only HH option left out there. I just did a redemption for 3K HH points and it posted immediately. I think the problem is with mypoints. I have had a beef with their OTX surveys that ask you much more than just demographic qualifying questions, then say you don't qualify so they get their info and you only get the 10 points for non-qual.

Their currency is not what it used to be. I first joined when a free coach RT was a 40K award so I had that as my goal. Then they eliminated that award. I keep saying I'm going to cash out and dump them, but can't decide what to cash out for so I keep clicking away. With HH gone, it is just another indication of shady dealings on Market Street.
