Multiple Dining Programs?

I apologize if this is in the wrong place, I didn't know where else to post it. I value the incredible depth of knowledge that is shared among users of this site and I'm hopeful that someone can answer my questions.

I got an e-mail today from MyPoints asking me to sign up for MyPoints Dining. I am already a member of UAL Dining and UPromise (which have dining rebate benefits as well). By joining MyPoints Dining, will I be erasing the UAL or UPromise benefits?

In other words, how many of these kinds of programs can I register my credit cards at and still recieve overlaping benefits? Will registering in one automatically erase me from others?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to FT, Puregold98!

You can sign up for multiple airline/point versions of iDine as long as you use DIFFERENT credit cards. As you suspected, the same meal cannot earn points in more than one program--the most recent program you signed up for with that card will cancel out a previous registration. But you can sign up up to three cards per account, thus you can make more than one visit per month to a particular restaurant by paying with a different card each time.

Some personal advice--I don't consider Mypoints Dining a good value compared with a dining program affiliated with an airline like United. Look at the conversion rates:

Mypoints: One free air ticket = 40,000 pts/$4,000 spent on meals

United: One free air ticket = 25,000 miles/$2,500 spent on meals

Great. Thank you very much for your help. I have a series of business dinners coming up and wanted to know the deal before these high priced meals.
