Is there an airfare coupon in these books? Which airline or airlines? Are they useful?

Thanks

United Airlines is in the book. Also, there are several car rental agencies and I have had success year after year getting the best rates with Avis, Alamo, and National. You can go to the website for the entertainment to look at coupons for restaurants, stores, etc. for each city. I get at ealst two every year because of the savings!

I actually just ordered the book yesterday (DTW edition, $25 including shipping). As soon as the online order went through, it told me I could sign up immediately for access to coupons, including a united.com coupon.
Minutes later, I had an e-mail from UAL, giving me 2, 15% off electronic certificates. They have few blackout dates, and are good for some discounted online fares, but when I plugged the codes into some itineraries for a trip I'm taking to Vegas, the lowest fare the certs could pull up was in the mid-$400's, while the non-cert fares were in the $290's.

Here's the fine print (FYI, I think there are also several 15% off UAL certs in the book that you need to redeem offline):

OFFER DETAILS:
Discount Amount: 15%
Booking period: 8/1/02-12/31/03
Travel period: 8/1/02-12/31/03
Eligible Booking Class: Economy (H,Q,V,)
Maximum number of passengers per itinerary: 1

NOTE: Not all flights are eligible for an electronic certificate
discount. In some instances you may find flights that are not
electronic certificate eligible, because they have already been
discounted and are less expensive than the electronic certificate
eligible flights.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We are not yet able to redeem paper certificates, coupons or vouchers
at united.com. Please contact customer support at 1-800-589-5582 with
any questions concerning paper or electronic certificates.
