Thanks. I already did the Barnes & Noble offer, and just qualified for a survey, but the Banana Republic gift certificates looked like a good deal. The BR in our local mall often has better sale prices than the online store does, so if I could get the gift certificate online and get the clickmiles and then use it at the store when I see a good sale, that would be great. I'm going to try it, and I'll report back here with my success (hopefully!)

Thanks... I'd be very interested in knowing how it works out. I'm a regular BR shopper! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, I got the BR gift certificate today (quite speedy, actually - 3 business days from time order was placed) but no points yet. The points for the Barnes & Noble order posted in a few days, as did the OpinionPlace survey I took. So far, this has taken the longest - almost 6 days and no points. I'm going to give them another couple of days and then e-mail them. I'll report back with a final update when it's all complete.

Taking a survey in order to trigger the 750-mile enrollment bonus is no longer an option;

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Please note: To take advantage of this offer, you must have already completed one or more transactions through ClickRewards. </font>
Looks like a GC or a small charitable donation may be your best bets.

I also tried the survey only to be denied without any points. I did a quick $3 donation to Toys for Tots hoping for the points to post quickly to get the 750 bonus points and also a survey. 3 days later and no points yet.

I made a $10 Toys for Tots donation on 7/29... after a f/u email to ClickRewards, the miles finally posted on 8/16...

FYI, donations to Toys for Tots takes 2 weeks to process.

Hello lyss710,

I was just wondering if your points have posted. I wanted to do the same thing if you get the points for the GC. Thanks!

If your goal is only to get a transaction so you can claim your 750 miles bonus, you might want to sign up for c2it which gives you an additional 500 miles and doesn't really cost you anything. See:

I am interested in using this, not only for the miles, but because I will actually probably need it.

In your experience, how long does creating 2 accounts, and making a transfer between two checking accounts in separate banks actually take ?

Does the $10 + 500 miles at no cost still apply ? What is the actual risk involved ?

I must admit that I'm not yet familiar with all the intricacies of the U.S. banking system, being fairly new here.

I've been reading through the threads on the forum, but couldn't find a definite answer. Furthermore, the service is down right now, so no way for me to try and decipher the fine print there.

Thanks in advance.

Here I am answering my own questions.

From what I could gather, fee for a transfer between bank accounts is 1.6% of transaction and delay is 'Same day'.

Fees:
https://www.c2it.com/C2IT/fees.jsp

Terms and conditions:
https://www.c2it.com/C2IT/july_aoltc.jsp

I'm still interested in knowing people's experience with this type of transaction.

Thanks.

From Citibanks website, I understand that they are WAIVING all transactions fees for the 1st 3 months that you are enrolled.

Key questions:

1. If you enroll via clickrewards are the fees for the first 3 months still waived?
2. If you are using a citibank cc, does this appear as a transaction or cash advance? (I have looked around and can't seem to see where the specifically answer this for citibank cardholders. They just say it is up to the individual issuer)

anyone know the answers to these questions?

They are waiving transaction fees, but note I would not encourage anyone to create two accounts for one person to do this ... find someone else to set up an account ... like your wife/brother/sister/mother/father ...

It used to be 3 months; it may be less now. It will show up as a purchase on the card you send from and as payment on a card you send to. They don't accept AMEX; checking acct is $3 for transaction, so you'd better off by setting up 2 CCs and move around.

Works well; tried it for 3 months http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I have discovered a loophole, so that you can get the 750 miles bonus for free by doing a survey.

1. Sign up for the 750 miles bonus

2. Go to: https://www.clickrewards.com/[email protected]

3. Change "[email protected]" to the email address you used to sign up for ClickRewards.

4. Miles should post in 3-5 days.

My brother got the address from his statemet from his account and I tried it out on a new account and it worked!! Now there is no need to buy anyting to get the 750 + 100 bonus miles!!!
