Steve B: No, I don't need a new calculator because my brain works fine. By using my points I am going to athens and paris next month. Sorry your calculator only shows 55 points a day. The mypoints program is as great as the USA, where a foreigner can rise to the top and enjoy the fruits of world and the locals complain why everyone is getting ahead of them.

Sergio - I use every legal opportunity to get points (even buying something once in a while) yet I very, very, very rarely hit 4000 points in a month. Talkcity is only good for about 100 points per month; somehow 800 to 900 points per week plus 100 points per month doesn't add up to 1,000 a week. I still don't see how you can claim that "1000 is easily attainable."

This has absolutely nothing with being a foreigner or being a local.

Also, how are you going to Paris and Athens? Are you using the Continental 80,000 point option? They don't allow open jaws on these tickets.

TravelLover: I get 800-900 points per week, probably closer to 900. I don't even bother with websites like Talkcity. Talkcity is about 200 points per month, not 100. If you thinking its 100, you missing another 100 points. Points-100 to 300 points for registering for websites comes every week. I refuse to complete application for some that are either too personal, lenghty or require downloading. I'm actually downplaying the potential of mypoints. And at one time, it was good for 2000 to 3000 points a week.

Mypoints gave AA miles. I gained enough for my trip.

Sergio....what planet are you from? Talk City is NOT 200 points per week. Its 100 per MONTH. I told you you need a new calculator. You seem very confused.

*Talk City points (if you choose to do them):
25 polls @ 5 pts each = 125 per week = about 500 per month
*Email response points = average of 10 per week =100 per week = 400 a month
*Sign up offers (varies) =average of 200 pts. a week = 800 month
*MyWay (when it works)is 120 a week = 480 a month
Potential total of these free options each month = 2180 ...This is an average based on my experience....

Steve B: I am from a planet where people travel to any place in the world they want for little or no cost to them. Apparently, you are from a planet where people are struggling to earn mypoints and failing miserably. I would invite you to my planet, but the bitterness and sorrowness you suffer from, as the direct result of the inability to earn a decent amount of mypoints, would only dampen my people's happiness.

I don't think anyone was downplaying your point earning opportunities at first, just wondering how you were doing so well. POINTMAN, TRAVELOVER, and STEVE B. have expressed their knowledge of the MyPoints earning opportunities, and you claimed they was incorrect. POINTMAN for one has shown above how he figures +/- 2200 pts. a month is tops, while you claim otherwise, and neglect to show how you earn differently. What is there to hide? Why not just tell it straight?. I would also be interested in finding out your point earning ways. The point of a thread such as this is to help each other out...Instead of beating around the bush, why not just tell POINTMAN and the rest of us reading this thread how exactly it is possible to get the extra 1800 pts. per month we are missing out on. Flintstone....don't hold your breath waiting for the poster from planetsergio to tell you how he earns 1,000 Mypoints per week.

Pointman....Talk City is once per MONTH...and all of the links haven't been working. Talk City is worth just about 100 points per month. Also, for the past month or so My Way is down at least half the time. It used to be pretty reliable. On signups I've had 200 points over the course of a week a few times but not too often. I agree that mail offers number about ten per week.

I do not accumulate points from Talkcity as I feel it is not worth the time. I was not aware that Talkcity has changed from weekly to monthly. They were 10 points weekly, then changed to 5 points weekly. Have they changed again? Myway points are very inconsistent. My averages were simply based on potential free points, based on what is advertised. I never get 2000 a month for free. Happy earning!

Flintstone: I can't be more direct than this. You turn on your computer and you surf the internet and collect your points. Nothing more and nothing less. Everyone gets different results. The mypoint program changes everyday. There was a time when a person could have scored 6000 to 10000 points a month on talkcity alone. The past is not indicative of the future. Everyone gets different opportunities through the program and select the way they surf. One can only provide their own experiences with the program. I provided mine. I know of people who earn much more than I do. I don't say they from another planet. I accept it because I am humble enough to say I don't earn every point possible, nor do I want to. It takes too much work. I am happy with the program because it adds another vacation or two into my schedule. Those that gripe about the low earning potential of the program should look within themselves to solve the program, or just simply quit the program.
It makes no sense to be bitter about a program that offers you the world. One person posts that he rarely scores 1000 a weeks. Well that confirmation that one thousand points a week is possible. Is this person from another planet? It seems like this Steve B person is a failure, who looks outward to justify his inadequacies.
Is it possible to earn 10,0000 a month? It has been done in the past.

This board is for sharing info to help each other, not have board fights. Don't waste the space.

There is no secret to getting Mypoints. Most of what I learned was from this board.

The Payyobillz message board was great for finding out about opportunities for 100 to 150 point links every week. A few weeks ago people started posting that their accounts were canceled for fraudulant use of Mypoint opportunities. I gather some people signed up for point opportunities that were posted which required specific criteria such as being a licensed MD or having graduated from a particular college. I saw these point opportunities, but I passed on ones that I obviously was not eligible to receive. The Payyobillz message board happen to go down a couple of weeks ago during all this discussion. Are these related? I don't know.

Personally I think the 105 Talkcity points once a month are nothing to pass on. Every bit helps.

Now Mypoints has opened the PowerPlay section on the homepage. Hopefully this will make up for the points lost from MyWaypoints, which was worth about 600 pts/month (better yet, hopefully they will come back soon).

I have been doing Mypoints for a year and some weeks it gets slow with only about 200 points a week and I have had weeks with over 1000 points. They have been really good about bringing in new point opportunities soon after a good sponsor disappears.

Stop the arguing and start earning points. I don't know any other program on the web with the potential of earning 35,000 miles in a year without spending much money.

Back to the question, I accumulated about 25,000 over the last seven months. I made three purchases totalling maybe 500.00, but the points were doubled up for a promo.

TalkCity is maybe worth 100/month...it changed from a weekly gig to monthly last month.

I read all the sites mentioned here weekly. The potential for earning has dropped dramatically and I'm glad I got my $300.00 in Hyatt certs while I could. I'm going to use them for business travel and get repaid by my company and apply that towards a big screen TV. Not too shabby...

Nanook, My wife and I use the same computer. My son uses his own and my daughter uses hers at school. If I enter the Mypoints site and my wife's name is identified, I proceed to the members page and refresh my user I.D. This way, she receives her points and I receive mine.
