UA redemptions for me have required a screen shot of my account-ledger showing the verified status of my redemption. I contact them 10 to 12 business days after I redeemed points for miles and generally the miles post to United the next day. I get the impression Mypoints would not follow through on the redemption without my contacting them.
Much poorer than it used to be. I hold out little hope for any improvement. |
A quick follow up on MyPoints redemption. On September 12 I redeemed 13,800 points for 5000 United Airline miles. Today, after contacting MyPoints customer service the United miles showed in my account. September 12 to October 2. M guess is if I had never contacted customer service I would never have gotten the United miles. Be diligent, follow up.

As a data point, I had an exceptional experience with redeeming MyPoints for United Mileage Plus Miles.
Redeemed 13,800 MyPoints for 5,000 United Mileage Plus Miles on November 26, 2024, and the miles posted to my account the next day, on November 27, 2024. No need to contact customer support, everything posted flawlessly, quicker than expected. :) |
My last United redemption was on November 13th and the points posted on the 16th. Very quick and surprised me. My next redemption should be in January, curious to see how it goes.

When I first redeem for United miles i take a screen shot of my Account Statement that shows the redemption. Two weeks later if I haven't had the miles deposited into my account, I send the screen shot and ask them if they can help with the redemption. Sometimes the same day, sometimes the next day, the miles post to my United account, and I get an apology email from My Points.
Works for me, give it a try. |
My miles redemption came through yesterday, along with another gift card I redeemed that morning. I've never had one process that fast!

My latest redemption for United miles was requested on January 5. The points posted yesterday, January 16. Eleven days from request to fulfillment. I was going to contact MyPoints on Monday but they beat me to the punch.

uxb, glad to hear MyPoints finally came through for you. Out of curiosity, when you contact them what is your attitude? When I contact them I attach a copy of my Account Statement and indicate any problems must be on my end. I never get angry or accuse them of being difficult to deal with, which they are. I always remember I want MyPoints to help me. Flies, sugar and vinegar...

I never heard DYKWIA used as a verb. Hopefully MyPoints steps up and improves their redemption time frame.
