Compilation of Black Friday Sales

Somebody over on Fat Wallet has complied all the black friday ads into one spreadsheet with something like 9,000 entries. It's available (for free) off this page

http://www.gophn.com/deals-black-friday-2009/

click on the link that says

BF2009 Buying Guide – Gophn.com

about half way down the page

Just keep in mind, Black Friday sales are often a myth and just a way to get you into the store. Many items you see will have a minimum or limit per store. You might see a 55 inch plasma for $700, but each store gets 2 of them and they're a less model than they usually carry without all of the features. You show up, the two in the store are all gone and then they get you to buy a much more expensive TV that may or may not be on sale at all.

I wouldn't say it's a MYTH but more of a luring gimmick...the sale is actually there, you just have to be one of the few that get lucky with ticketing or camping out. My friend decided to do the camping out thing one BF and he made out like a bandit with electronics.

I will advise that you go in with the mindset that you are not the only one who wants product xxx and make a list of what you want and where it might be located, it makes things easier.

While there are some things that they only have a few of, there are also some deals on regular stuff that can't be gotten most other days of the year. I've got more then a few things in the house that were excellent Black Friday deals, just regular stuff at excellent prices.

Also be aware that some Black Friday deals are also available through the online counterparts of retail stores...and some are already up!
