If you guys are that adamant about not using a taxi - take whatever hotel shuttle you want and hail the Uber from there. Been doing this for awhile now and never had any problems with the shuttle driver checking or even asking. I just get my bags off and have it hailed and waiting when I get to the hotel.

Added SGN - Uber officially banned from airport, but most drivers willing to pick up and drop off. Note: Their actual cell phone numbers will be listed, as will yours (instead of a masked number), so you'll need an international plane or a local SIM to contact them.
I took the liberty of organizing the Wiki into regions (well, all US, but for two Asian entries). |
GRU - pickup at arrivals and drop off at departures, no hassle
|
PHX - No problem using UberXL on pickup, and UberX on dropoff.

MSY allows pickups, but there is a mandatory minimum $75 fare, and you are forced to use Uber Black.
If you have 4 people, it is a no-brainer since cabs have regulated $15pp fares from MSY to the city. |
HT to gleff from VFTW, as of Nov 1 MWAA has legalized rideshare services. There will be a $4/ride airport surcharge on top of normal fares. Apparently pickups as well as dropoffs will be ok at IAD and DCA.
http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea....u-if-you-uber/ Link to MWAA announcement: http://www.mwaa.com/about/new-rules-...266.1446583321 I've updated the Wiki. |
I'm not sure if Uber is officially allowed, but at BOS, if you try to request an Uber, it will pop up a message saying that Uber will only pick up in the Limo pick-up area, and the only options are UberX and UberBLACK.

Just added FLL to the list, very pleasant experience using Uber there earlier this month.

I took an uberX earlier this month from LAX. Was able to arrange a pickup straight from the app, designate the pickup terminal, and coordinated pick-up location with driver via text. A $4.00 "LAX Airport Surcharge" was added in addition to the usual $1.65 "Safe Rides Fee."
|
MSP allows pickup, hard to find online documentation though. Black or SUV service only so regular taxi will be about 20% cheaper to either downtown.
