That's an interesting argument! I should evaluate that option as well. Thanks for the tip!

If you are certain that you can complete 20 stays and/or 35 nights next year, why would you do a rollover? Concierge level will get you 1K more points per online booking than Gold, 5 more points per dollar spent, plus free breakfast. I am making an effort to reach Concierge level. Just one more stay needed. The free breakfast, particularly in Europe, is well worth the matress run for me. Especially if I book a C&P rate for around $50-60.

I figured as much and did the one night at a hotel 2 miles from my home to get the 1 night to make Concierge!

Looking forward to one full year of nice upgrades and extra points!

My 30th stay just posted from a few days ago. I used a C&P rate at a CIS by Dulles. 5K points plus $45 and change. The interesting part was that the stay posted with a 3K point online booking bonus instead of 2K (for gold). ^

I'm anxious to see how many hotel desk staff know that Concierge status comes with free breakfast.

My experience is that they know about it, but they have to manually remove it from the bill. The system doesn't recognise the benefit. I have to point it out almost every time with rates that don't include breakfast, but they always quickly fix the issue.
