Self-checkin bonus ?
I hope this is not a duplicate, but is the self-checkin bonus gone ? I can't find it anywhere on the SWISS website.
|
I'm afraid that indeed they don't have this promo right now. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Also, I think there's currently no e-booking bonus for flights ex CH (I saw a 2000 miles promo banner appear when I priced an itinerary out of Toulouse, but not when doing so out of ZRH...).

Sorry airoli
In this case you're info is not up to date. Self service machine checkin get's 500 bonus miles, as far as I can tell from my statement that is per flight coupon. Beware that the machine does not work with all destinations. For UK and USA, for example, you will be asked to go to the counter. From my knowledge "trying" doesn't get any miles. Booking through swiss.com gets 2000 per ticket. Flying on an eticket gets 500 per segment. Enjoy the extra miles! Usually (not always) self service and eticket bonus miles post automatically at the end of the month. |
The promotions are still going on. The Qualiflyer Centers don t know about it but the system does!!
All the last flights I did with E-tkets, E-checking and of course Online tkets buying worked: 500 bonus miles for E-tket per segment. 2000 bonus miles for online booking (out side of Switzerland only!). 500 bonus miles for E-cheking per segment. I think you should claim the bonus through Qualiflyer Centers I did it and no questions asked I was credited a few days later. Good luck. Kooks. |
This is great news, I really didn't know of it because I could not find it anywhere on either the LX or Qualiflyer sites...
Thanks everybody for making me aware of it! <IMG SRC="http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif"> edited to add: ch_usa, does the 2000 mile booking bonus also apply to bookings ex ZRH? Kooks, where did you get the information that only flights outside of CH get the online booking bonus?
When I booked my flight to LHR for last weekend, the banner (small, elegant, upper left part of the screen) advertised the bonus. I think I received the bonus for a flight to CPH that was booked after the launch of Swiss. I'll post here as soon as I get the LHR bonus miles. In any case, you're right. If they don't post by the end of the month, call and the miles will be posted manually. Interestingly I've had more success calling reservations (quicker posting), but only if it's Basel or Lugano (were they can access the web engine), not Zurich. |
Thanks ch_usa for your comment.

Does the e-tix bonus also apply to award flights? It seems so. I cannot find any restriction ...

Good news from Qualiflyer Germany: I had to reserve seats and asked the Swiss agent, Mr Mann, if passengers get this bonus for e-ticketing. He thought that the promotion was already terminated, but I told him that in they are still advertising it in the internet. "If this is the case, the promotion also applies to award tix.", he replied.
|
i didn't receive any bonusmiles on my last 2 fights , awardtickets e-tickets, so if somebody did get bonusmiles please post it here.
I think you only get 1.000 bonusmiles for online booking |

only, the online booking bonus is credíted to my account. This is unfair!

I just wanted to reply "same here", but as of today some more miles showed up...
For a V class booking CGN-ZRH-CGN I received: 31.07.02 Promotion e>check-in 500 31.07.02 e>ticket Promotion 1000 07.07.02 LX1042 V Zurich-Cologne/Bonn 1000* 05.07.02 Bonus miles "www.swiss.com, online booking" 2000 05.07.02 LX1043 V Cologne/Bonn-Zurich 1000* The flight miles were credited 3 days after the flight dates, the online booking bonus appeared beginning of August, and the e>ticket promotion and the e>checkin bonus showed up today. Once again it pays to rely on flyertalk (and be patient) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Thorsten |
I'll fly on an e-ticket to Paris in September.
I'll fly TAP: LIS-OPO-ORY-LIS. Will I earn 500 miles per e-checkin and 500 miles per segment? Another person will fly with me on an award companion ticket? Will he earn the same bonus? Are these offers valid for all Qualiflyer airlines? Thank you for your concern!! ------------------ http://rucas0.tripod.com/miles/ |

Answer Yes, you will earn 500 bonus miles for each flight segement on SWISS Airlines booked as an Electronic ticket. Hence, for every return ticket booked as an Electronic ticket you will earn 1000 bonus miles. Needless to say, if you book more segements you will earn additional bonus miles. 1 flight segment = 1 take off/landing example : Hamburg - Zürich = 1 flight segment = 500 Bonus miles. ________________________________ |

Well, I asked more or less the same question in another topic recently [http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum40/HTML/000769.html] - and Patron gave the same answers as you, kooks...
However, I did get e-ticket bonus miles for both a payed ticket and a companion ticket on Sabena last year [1000 miles per segment at that time]. So the question becomes: did they really change that rule? [PS: Nearly all miles for those flights were credited retroactively after faxing BP-copies.] |
I have had four award e>tickets booked online since April. Received "www.qualiflyer.com, book with miles" 1000 bonus miles per booking (last one not in the account yet), but no extra e>ticket bonus. I will try e>checkin on a paid e>ticket (Aug 30) and award e>ticket (Sep 15). I am curious to see if the e>checking bonus will apply to the award flight.

Taking this a bit further, are there any airports where you can perform e>checkin with luggage?
|
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by HajoFlyer: Taking this a bit further, are there any airports where you can perform e>checkin with luggage?</font> You can do the E-checking with luggage (only one piece) in Geneva and Zurich only. The self checking is also available in Basel but only if you have hand luggages. For information this is the link for the E-tket destinations: http://www.swiss.com/index/id-travel...-ticketing.htm kooks |

On the day of the outward flight, we were due to strike action rebooked on DUS - VIE (LH) and VIE - ATH (OS); the latter section we enjoyed in Business, because the OS agent in VIE couldn't get other seats... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif The return flight from ATH to BRU was ok apart from arriving two hours late; thus Sabena had to rebook us on a later BRU - DUS flight. Of all these flights, only the ATH - BRU flight showed up in my QF account. Therefore, in my above mentioned fax I asked for retroactive credit of a) my 3 other segments; b) the e-ticket bonus for all my 4 segments; and c) the e-ticket bonus for my companion's 4 segments [actually, as I wasn't sure whether my companion or me would get those, I included her QF account number, too.] In the end (and actually rather soon after my fax), I got them all! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
I that case I think you did great.
I also had some cancellations myself and got all the miles too after sending fax. It also work sometimes to get double miles: 1 set of miles in QG account for example and the other set in Turkish airline card for example... Good for your Akki. kooks |

Now I am absolutely confused. My Qualiflyer account shows the following transactions for August:
14.08. Free Ticket -20000 30.08. LX353 B London-Geneva +1000 30.08. LX2817 B Geneva-Zürich +500 30.08. LX1028 B Zürich-Düsseldorf +1000 31.08. Bonus miles "www.qualiflyer.com, book with miles" +1000 31.08. e>ticket Promotion +1000 Both the free ticket (four segments) and the paid ticket LHR-GVA-ZRH-DUS were booked online as e>tickets, but no e>checkin was performed. Questions/Points: 1) I suppose the 2000 miles for online booking of the paid ticket will still come in later on. 2) e>ticket bonus for award ticket: according to an earlier post by kooks, this bonus als applies to award tickets. If it is segment based, it should be 2000 miles. 3) e>ticket bonus for paid ticket: if segemtn based, this should be 1500 miles. 4) In either case, I don't understand how it can be 1000 miles only, and to which of the two tickets it applies. Plus I understand that I should still be getting one e>ticket bonus for the other ticket. Any advice? Thanks. [This message has been edited by HajoFlyer (edited 09-03-2002).] |
I will try to answer yours questions:
1) the 2'000 miles should come later this month. 2) if you had a free tket and did 4 segments you should get 2'000 miles (4x500), that is right. In my wife's case maybe we are lucky or maybe it s a new promotion that I don t know of. 3) your point is correct, you did 3 segments on the 30th August so 3x500= 1'500 miles bonus and not the 1'000 like you wrote. 4) I also cannot anderstand to which flights this bonuses aply. My guess is that one of the flight is missing in the system, maybe because you flu in one of the last day of the month. Wait a little more days and if nothing shows online them call Qualiflyer. kooks. |
I recently had an award ticket which was an e-ticket, and I received no e-ticket bonuses for this award ticket.
However, on a very similar itinerary I noticed that the e-ticket bonus miles for international european segments posted two weeks earlier than those for the GVA-ZRH flight. Same thing with the youth bonus I receive - it postes after a week for the international flights, but took longer for the domestic. I would wait 2-3 weeks and then call Qualiflyer for the 500 e-ticket bonus for GVA-ZRH if they haven't posted. I wouldn't ask for bonus miles on an award ticket (other than online booking) but just feel happy if one day you do get miles. I once had a c-class award booked with US Airways miles (lucky I got rid of them) and got full miles incl. youth bonuses for the flight. Basically flew for free. That is a while back though and I've never been that lucky since then. |
Some other thing I gathered from a LX BSL internet desk team leader:
The 2000 swiss.com online booking bonus miles actually where available for flights booked from swiss airports during a short time period. (A few weeks only, though.) It had to be discontinued for tickets ex CH for "legal reasons". I couldn't find out more than that. |
