There's a handy little page one oneworld.com that lists all the equivalent tiers for Member airlines:

Frequent Flyer Perks: oneworld Emerald & oneworld Sapphire | oneworld

Which for Qatar gives:

Qatar Airways - oneworld Member Airline | oneworld

Privilege Club Silver = Oneworld Ruby

I am group 5 on the Seoul Doha leg,and Group 1 on Doha LHR leg? Makes no sense to me. This is my last minute booking I did last night ,I have to return early due to family medical emergency. economy and business cabins all sold out. Couldn't upgrade at the desk. I am looking forward to 20 more hours in the air in the economy.
Sorry for typos,I am of dictating at the airport

It seems there are Ruby benefits with Qatar,no priority boarding,no free seat selection (I booked less than 24 h and still had to pay). Probably also no priority check-in, I did transfer so can't know for sure but my guess Ruby has no benefits at all

QR Silver is OW Ruby, however it may be that QR treats its own elites different from OW partner elites, in this case they have decided that QR Silver elites can use priority boarding.

Priority boarding is not a benefit of OW Ruby, priority boarding is available on OW Sapphire upwards. (source: https://www.oneworld.com/travel-benefits).

It is standardised. Are you saying QR shouldn’t be allowed to provide its own members a better deal than whichever benefits oneworld state?

In a way there is, the alliance wide benefits are on the OW website so this would be 'standardised', but airlines do add extra benefits on top for their own elites (for example, on CX if you are a CX elite you can have free seats in Y for everyone in the booking, as a OWS/OWE you can only select for free for yourself. On BA, only BA Gold gets Gold Award Availability, whereas to my knowledge other elites don't have access to this).

I agree, it would make life easier if there were less differences, but arguably it also makes you think more carefully about what program you're a FF of. It also allows airlines to differentiate their FF program benefits from others.

OWR only gets priority check in but not priority boarding. OWS gets priority boarding and other benefits, in addition to whatever benefits given to OWR.

Every airline can provide additional benefits for their own loyalty programme (e.g. lounge access to QRPC Silver when flying on QR but not on partner, Al Safwa lounge access to QRPC Platinum but not other OWE etc.). However, when you are using your frequent flyer status on another OW airline, you should only expect to receive the standard OW benefits and not the same as the operating airline's equivalent FFP since you are not QRPC Silver, but just OWR.

I think overall OW benefits are more standardized compared to other alliances.
