It is standardised. Are you saying QR shouldn’t be allowed to provide its own members a better deal than whichever benefits oneworld state?
But the alliance concept has regressed significantly in the 2+ decades since then as the power base in the airline industry moved eastwards. |
Thank you all for clarification.
on board now,at least QR has ridiculously cheap wife I am just curious, what is the purpose of OW chart where they say OW Ruby = QR Silver? What is the purpose of a actually mentioning that if it has no application? |

it’s for QR silver members to know that they have standardised Ruby benefits at eg BA or RJ - such as priority checkin.

If you fly on QR using BAEC Bronze status, you only get OWR benefits. |

That means QRPC Silver gets all the OWR benefits (shown on OW website) when flying in any OW airline, but they will get the additional benefits stated on QRPC's website when flying on QR.

From the OneWorld website (linked to above), the only alliance benefits of Ruby are:
- Access to Business Class priority check-in - Access to preferred or pre-reserved seating* - Priority on waitlists and when on standby* * In accordance with the individual policy of the oneworld airline operating the flight Each airline may or may not offer their own members additional benefits (eg. lounge access for QR Silver) that are not available to other airlines' members. |

As others have stated, there are a set of standard OWR benefits that all OW airlines have to provide to all OWRs. Then, individual airline’s may give their own OWR elite equivalents extra benefits. AA, for example, gives their OWR the additional benefit of being eligible for space available free upgrades on every domestic and short haul intl flight, but don’t expand that benefit to other OWRs. Just as QR give’s their OWR the addiontal benefit of priority boarding.

OP, asa a general rule, go to the app/website of the airline you have status with, and whatever benefits are listed there, those are the ones you have across the alliance.
No need to worry about what benefits other airlines offer their elites as those won’t apply to you. |

You should only refer to OW website for your status benefits in general when flying on a OW airline, and if you are flying on the airline you have status with, check the FFP's webpage for the benefits because there might be additional benefits in that case, otherwise only standard OW status benefits. |

I'm afraid that's not quite true. Assuming you are QRPC Silver, and you check QRPC website, you will have priority boarding and lounge access but these are only when you are flying on QR.

Case in point AA offers a free checked bag for Ruby and two for Sapphire. AA also offers Main Cabin Extra (MCE) seating for Sapphire and above for FF members of BA, IB and QR only (AA and AS included). And at T24 for Ruby. A significant benefit. Ruby is included in Group 4 boarding on AA also. This is on top of the published one world benefits. |
